Grimm's One More & I Gotta Go — Restaurant in Wautoma

I have to say, I've eaten at Grimm's and known Aaron for over 20 years. Grimm's is typically an amazing place to grab lunch. Evidently, however, it's only amazing if Aaron or his son are cooking. My wife and I were there about a month ago, and we waited nearly an hour for our burgers, and they were awful.

The redeeming factor, if there is any, is that while Aaron was there, he wasn't cooking. It was someone we'd not seen before. So, maybe it was a new cook paired with a newer waitress. But, c'mon. I took a bite of my burger, and as my wife was saying hers tasted different, I spit it out. Even the brew city fries were somehow awful.

It's irritating to make a 40-minute drive to a place you frequent to honor your locals, but then wait for an hour for your food, and when you get it, it's awful.

I mean, I once ate an MRE cracker with jalapeno cheese off the sand floor of a kill house in North Carolina. Granted, I was really hungry, but a few Saturdays ago, I was hungry too. Just not that hungry.

We haven't been back since. It's sad. We loved Grimm's. For decades. Maybe we'll try it again and just leave if one of the Aaron's...

The staff was terrible. We ordered a large amount of food to go and when we arrived we wanted to look in the bags to make sure we had it all seeing as we drove 25 min one way. The woman got angry and said why it’s all there. Well when we got back it wasn’t, my daughters food was missing. We called back and a different person named Sarah answered, she said oh yeah it’s on the bar I wasn’t in here. We said well we can’t and aren’t coming to get it she didn’t seem to mind what we told her she quickly said call tomorrow and talk to Aaron the owner. So we did, HE is the reason for 4 stars otherwise it would be one star he was amazing and was not happy with staff. My only suggestion check your staff and have them treat customers better. We came here on a recommendation from a local couple. Yes the food was good BUT the service and atmosphere was terrible. When we walked in not one employee says Hello or Welcome. Not one word...just stared. Very uncomfortable and unwelcome feeling. We got a table. It took maybe 10 minutes to get menus and order drinks. Food took awhile which I have no problem with. It was good and hot when we finally got it. Not once did anyone ever come back. We had to hunt down our check to pay. Was it busy? Nope.
