Frederick's Sips N Eats — Restaurant in Waverly

We had a very good experience here today. The staff was very attentive. The food was prepared promptly. Our orders were correct. The fries were quite tasty. The food was the correct size for the price. The music (older country) didn't quite match the decor of the place, but was appropriate for the community. The lighting is too dim and the carpet in the staff high traffic areas needs to be vacuumed more often - a manual carpet sweeper which uses no electricity/makes no disturbing noise would do the trick between the high chair storage and the table condiment storage. The bathrooms are very clean with newer flooring. There are no changing tables in the bathrooms, so parents of small children need to plan accordingly. There is a balcony seating area, a large bar, booths, and tables. The setup of this place would be great for hosting a large event, providing you bring more light as supplimental decor. First time at Fredericks and wasn’t impressed. The atmosphere was nice. Service was decent. Took a while for her to come to our table and the person who sat us got our drinks. In all honesty the menu is terrible for people with any eye issues. If you need readers you better have them with you or a phone to take pics and zoom in. I’m guessing the font size is 9. I ordered the Philly with out onions, cole slaw and au jus. My friend ordered the French dip with fries and side or ranch.

The food was brought in a reasonable amount of time and was hot. The coleslaw is definitely not the creamy sweet. I took one bite and that was enough for me. The Philly was okay but nothing seasoned or anything. When we left I asked my friend from out of town their thoughts and he stated he wouldnt travel any amount of distance for it.

This particular building has been an eatery a few different times over the years. They quickly get you seated, but after that, the service is strangely slow considering the lack of patrons they have at any given time. The menus were strangely wrinkled and dirty. Another oddity is that they have items on the menu that they only serve at specific times - which they don't indicate or tell you at any point unless you try to order it. For example, pizza is only served at specific times and days, and the only way to find that out is to try to order it - which you can't, so you're now scrambling to find other things on the menu to order while the wait staff stands there. We tried the pretzel bites and they looked like they were either very old or microwaved. It was the first time I'd ever seen greasy wrinkled pretzel bites. Very strange...
