We arrived around 3pm & my spouse & I placed our orders. We were then told they'd just run out of bacon & to make other selections. Reluctantly selected a chicken salad with pecans & grapes on croissant with a tomato basil soup questioning what we'd be presented. My daughter & her son also settled for alternate orders due to lack of product. When our meals arrived, nothing was as described. As for my spouse & me, there was no pecans, a sliver of a grape, unfounded chicken , rather a wet runny sour cream & possibly mayo slurry inside the croissant dripping all over & around the plate. The Tomato soup was missing the basil entirely. The disappointment was aggravating! There was a lot of staff there. Only one time did a young male employee go to the overflowing trash can down which then rose to beyond full as he walked away. Lots of chatting from the distracted staff with themselves. As we left to toss our meals into the trash, we stacked their styrofoam containers precariously as to not let them topple onto the ground. As my grandson asked what to do with his container seeing the disastrous trash disposal delicate, I said for him to go ahead & place it towards the top & just let it fall given no staffers could have been bothered with the overflow of trash. Obviously it was near shift change because, as we were getting into our car, four employees were getting into the car parked beside of ours at the courthouse. Never ever will we visit this unsupervised establishment again. Never before have we had such a horrible experience with any of the restaurants or other businesses in this beautiful area we frequent. We travel about an hour for what we always have an amazing time here, until this day at this establishment. Sad the owners are so apathetic. I'd want to have an excellent reputation rather than known as the place to avoid at all costs. Paid for trash... remember the overflow of trash overflowing inside the receptacle was the equivalent of the trash we were served. Sad! Never again! We would never send any business to a business that doesn't care enough to have clarity in what's going on in their...
Read moreFirst off I should say that I'm not from this area I'm from Galveston and was passing through, got hungry, googled food near me and was intrigued by the title of the establishment. Given that the name is farm luck for some reason I was expecting farm fresh or at least somewhat fresh offerings, but when I arrived I realized I was highly disappointed to see that the only food offerings were basic soup sandwich salads, but still hopeful I went ahead and ordered a half sandwich and soup combo for $6.99 and a brownie sundae for dessert. My total came to $13 and some change with a tic it was 15 something... I ordered the jalapeno pimento cheese sandwich on wheat and a cup of "tomato basil" soup.... I went to the candy shop to look around while my food was being made...it is Definitely not my idea of a candy shop it only has mass produced candy that you can purchase much cheaper at any grocery store... I ended up eating my Sundae first bc I was traveling and it would melt and it was honestly delicious... However, the sandwich was literally pimento cheese with pickled jalapeno slices on regular wheat sandwich bread like what I use at home and my tomato soup tasted like they heated up marinara or pasta sauce and it was honestly the worst tomato soup I've ever had. Even Campbell's is better imo...so for $15 I got good friendly service, half of a sandwich I could've made at home easily for $2 maybe, a cup of soup I threw away, a handful of ruffles chips I didn't eat either and a really good Sundae... The only thing about this place that justified the name is the country decor... I honestly regret trying it and wish I had kept my money and not driven all the way off 287 to try it, but the service was very friendly and it was...
Read moreGreat place across from the courthouse. The food was good (although they did give me the wrong chicken salad sandwich). I liked that you could substitute veggies in a cup for the side to the sandwich (the cup had carrots, celery and cucumbers and included a cup of ranch dressing for dipping the veggies). For dessert I ordered the “smallest chocolate sundae” which was larger than I expected given the name. It was good but I wish it was possible to have hot fudge as an option vs only chocolate syrup. I’m also not sure what they are using for whipped cream because it had no flavor.
The bright colors and “soda fountain” vibe evoke the 1950’s so I found it strange they played 80’s music. I followed the sign that pointed to “Fresh Picked candy corn” and found myself passing the entry to the men’s toilet on the right, and further down on the left a pile of boxes. The destination turned out to be a very small space that can be accessed from the outside that has a wall of a variety of regular candies.
I do think a little kid would enjoy picking out candy that was individually wrapped (I could picture a kid grabbing a handful at a time) but was, overall, disappointed with the look of the hallway and what was in the room. I hope the owners will work on the trip down the hallway - although, perhaps it is a “hall” less taken by others!!
While I would have liked some tweaks, I did enjoy going and will try it again when I’m in town.
PS If you pay with cash, you get a slight discount - although you may need to help the cashier figure out...
