I took my daughters for breakfast yesterday morning. I have been here in the past and it was really good and the service used to be wonderful. Yesterday was not good. I took my daughters to order and it wasn’t very busy in the 9 o’clock hour. It had been a while since I had been there so we were scanning the menu. The girl at the counter was glazed over and didn’t pay attention or offer any help-you could easily tell that we didn’t frequent this place based on the fact that I was fumbling around looking at the menu. My daughter wanted tea and she was about to order the jasmine tea. I explained to her jasmine tea has a fruity and flowery taste and that I don’t care for it but she may like it. Again, the girl stood right there as we had this discussion, daydreaming. My daughter chose a black iced tea, and then I proceeded to order for me and my other daughter. I ordered a green tea. I didn’t realize that the only green tea they had was a jasmine blend. The girl was standing right there as I was trying to figure out the menu, and she didn’t tell me that their only green tea option was essentially a jasmine tea. Their is a huge difference between a basic green tea and the soapy flower taste of jasmine tea. I was embarrassed to take it back up there, but I couldn’t drink it without my stomach churning, so I reluctantly took it back up to the counter and said I meant to order the green tea but this was jasmine. It’s such a simple thing, and it caused to much frustration and confusion. I am a tea drinker and this just baffled me that they didn’t elaborate on this. She did offer me a different kind of tea which was a powerful mint tea, so I kept that but didn’t drink it. My daughter’s acai bowl was a soupy smoothie on a plate with a sliced banana and granola which was $10. My other daughter got avocado toast and they didn’t toast the bread….on the avocado toast, so it was a soggy piece of bread flopping around when she tried to eat it. My breakfast sandwich was just okay but so tiny. It blew my mind that their were AT LEAST 6 employees hanging out and chatting happily around the counter and they didn’t even take 4 minutes to toast the bread. I spent around $40 there and was excited to have a good breakfast with my kids because we don’t eat out that often-but I try to change it up on summer break. This was so disappointing . I don’t think I’ll ever go back because I’d be afraid of throwing away more money. Chi fil A would’ve been a safe option to enjoy a nice treat and relax...
Read moreI literally just left this location and was utterly disgusted at the nonchalant attitude towards sanitation. I placed my coffee order and was considering a pastry order..until I looked over in the pastry case a saw a couple of flies in the case landing on the pastries from one to another. The case was filled and the young barista I alerted really took no urgency into removing them and immediately addressing the issue. This spoke volumes to me as to what this location and how they not only address sanitation concerns but customer concerns. I then advised two other team members who I believe one was management - they replied with a "thank you for telling us" and then left the pastries in the case and kept taking additional orders for the line behind me! WOW. No one stopped to go over there, remove the pastries, kill or remove the flies, disinfect the case, and then put new pastries out there uncontaminated. Maybe they do not realize the risks associated with flies landing on food and how they significantly damage food environments, by contaminating them with harmful bacteria and other pathogens. Flies can carry over 100 pathogens, including bacteria like Salmonella and E. coli. They transfer these pathogens by landing on food and surfaces, potentially causing foodborne illnesses. I left the location worried that even my coffee may have some issues. So I just decided not to drink it and went to another coffee shop in the area to get my drink. FYI - by the time I left several minutes later....Pastries were still there and no one resolved the issue. As far as I know they are still in the case, being sold, and given to other patrons...Not a good experience, or good look for...
Read moreThis place has the best PB&J that I have tasted! My daughter loves it, so when I finally got the chance to order it for myself, I was blown away! The biscuit and gravy is also excellent! The chicken caprese is also my wife’s favorite (and mine), but the last time I ordered it, it was a bit dry. Still tasted great, though, but it didn't taste the way I first remembered it. And lastly, the latte is always served great!
I gave this place a 3-star rating because of customer service. I am a regular here, and when I say regular, I eat in this place like 2 times a week, every week for the past few semesters. There is this girl who served my coffee awfully and wasn't even apologetic about it. There is no coffee, no creamer, and it was served a bit cold and clumsily. I posted this incident on my IG page and the management made it right by giving me a free coffee on the next visit. I am thankful, and I put the bad service behind me. But in my next visits, this girl who is rather impolite is the one cashiering. I guess she learned that I told management about the bad service and she’s dealt with me crassly since then. I just don't feel right about this as a customer. I feel that people like her can do bad to a rather great cafe like White Rhino. When my family goes out to eat, I deliberately choose other places to go to because my wife is confrontational. If she sees that this girl deals with me or her poorly, she will speak her mind and will surely demand to talk to the manager. I...
