No. 1 Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Wayland

Called to order dinner, asked the gentleman who was taking my order if what my wife wanted had any dairy. He said "I dont think so....." I said could you check please because my wife is allergic. He just hung up on me mid conversation. So we went to another Chinese place the next exit down. Then a hour or longer later a lady calls back and says I owe her and says she will loose money. I was very nice and explained what happened and how I didnt believe they were even making the order. She asks if I was coming to pay or not. I said no. She hung up on me too. Im not sure why they believe that is a good way to treat clients. Although i I can firmly say because of this I never will be a client. The other reviews are not so hot lol...

Starting off with the food, you can definitely tell it's cooked with love. This restaurant is one of the best authentic chinese restaurants in west michigan. The people who work there are kind and patient, though shortly after covid started they took away the buffet and installed a serving window, it's still one of the best places you'll try. The longest I've ever had to wait for my food was about 15 minutes and the food is always fresh and delicious. Not a single person I've recommended this place to has disliked it or not wanted to come back, in fact, it becomes their go to chinese restaurant. It can be pricey but their lunch special is amazing. This was my first experience and was circumspect based upon the negative reviews. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very, very good. I felt it was also good value for the money. Our order included Moo shoo pork, Mongolian beef, pepper steak, sweet and sour chicken, steamed dumplings and egg rolls. The egg rolls were better than any I’ve had from Byron Center and Dorr Chinese restaurants. I took away one star because the Mongolian beef and pepper steak were so similar, we couldn’t tell the difference. We also didn’t receive soy sauce.
