Disrespectful and Hostile Staff Ruin the Experience
I've been to a lot of fast food restaurants, but I have never encountered staff as rude and disrespectful as the crew at Wendy's on Lyon Ave. in Sioux Falls. From the moment I walked in, the kitchen workers were loudly mocking customers in a very demeaning way.
When someone simply asked if they had spicy chicken sandwiches, they replied in an extremely sarcastic and derisive tone. The poor cashier seemed to be the only polite employee, being new, but everyone else had a major attitude problem.
I was made fun of repeatedly and loudly for taking my time using the ordering kiosk for the first time. They built an imaginary person to continue ridiculing and insulting. Any minor question any customer had was met with sneering and rude comments from the line workers.
There was one employee in particular who was outrageously loud and presumptuous, carrying on with the mocking for an uncomfortable duration. All the other customers were seated as far away from these awful employees as possible to try to escape their abuse.
Before I could even finish my meal, the other patrons had had enough and walked out. I was then rushed out by employees bringing cleaning supplies and trash cans to my table, making noises and obviously trying to force me to leave.
I've never felt so disrespected or made to feel so unwelcome at any restaurant. The quality of the food is irrelevant when the staff treats customers with such hostility and cruelty. I will never return to this location as long as this is the kind of experience they provide. Avoid this Wendy's at all costs unless you want to be belittled and ridiculed...
Read moreWent through the drive thru at 10 pm, mind you they close at 12 they still had 2 hours before they close, they were out of chili. It could have been because of ingredients missing but with the way they treated me I truthfully think they were lying about being out. I waited for my food for 20 minutes before some guy comes out and hands me a bag and says “I think this is your order can you check” so I checked and saw a few items that looked like my order so I confirmed it was but after looking through the bag alittle more there was a few things missing. After waiting 20 minutes for my order I was already alittle frustrated that it wasn’t right. Went back around through the drive thru and let the lady know on the speaker (I think she was the manager) she was wearing different uniform a nicer button up shirt she told me they could give me the items missing and messed up because they also just made my burger however it comes when I asked for no produce. she never apologized and seemed annoyed that I came back, I tried telling the worker that originally brought my food out that I was just wanting the food i payed for I’m not trying to get anything extra I just want my order made right and his response was “well you did pay for a sandwich” just horrible...
Read moreIt’s rare that I post a negative review, but this one seems necessary. Previous visits have been bad, but this one was the worst. I walked in about 11am, while looking at the menu, I noticed that an employee seemed upset about something as he slammed the ice chest door and the bucket with it. The lobby was bad in that the floor was quite dirty, all of the trash cans had been pulled out and all but one were missing a bag, one ketchup dispenser was out of the holder and on the counter, the freestyle machine was the dirtiest thing there with days old syrup coating the edges. The parking lot had several pieces of trash about it as well. The beef tasted off today and was not as hot as usual, which is unusual for any Wendy’s.
My concern is that with the lobby looking as bad as it does, the kitchen portion might also not be getting cleaned very well.
The only person truly working seemed to be the manager, while the staff could be heard using profanity in the back about other people not working.
I have noticed the decline of this location over the last two years and I fear that this location will soon fail entirely. It’s sad, but...
