I rarely review food places. Because mostly they’re not that good. And unless they completely suck, I wouldn’t talk trash. So, that said, I felt I must write about this place. I can rarely squeeze out the words awesome or killin’ about a restaurant or other food vendor. I cook myself on a pretty high level and just know too much. This place is beyond awesome. I stumbled upon it by sheer chance (no coincidences in life, right?). Stopped on a morning to get food for a trip to Philly. I only had one sandwich, El Cubano, but it really showed what this establishment stands for. It was obviously freshly made on premises - the roast was so fresh and it dripped juice. I think the ham was made there as well. The quality of other ingredients were tasting of highest quality. The flavors and textures were so distinct and vivid with each bite. The crunch of pickles, the actual contrast between the specific textures and flavor profiles of ham and roast and the blanket of cheese that wasn’t overwhelming but just right created an exquisite sandwich with perfect balanced in every bite. It wasn’t absolutely authentic as it did not have that toasted garlic butter flavor on the inside but that doesn’t matter. Still amazing. Also, the chips are freshly made on the spot and are very tasty and they keep their crunch for a long time. Bravo! The rest of the shop’s products seemed insanely fresh and high level. They have incredible quality meats, including venison, wild boar, etc. very niche and speciality sausages and the list goes on. A lot of the food there seems like it is Italian-leaning and judging fine the sandwich I had they’re Italian dishes must be amazing too. They’re not cheap. They’re actually expensive but that $17 El Cubano is that rare occurrence where I’d say it was worth every penny. I’ll be back to check out their raw meats and other things they have to offer. *I didn’t take pics of my food but reposting photos of their El Cubano and house made chips taken by their other customers. They’re every bit as good looking in reality and even tastier...

Pete’s meats and Grill was recommended by a foodie friend. I checked the website and their offerings looked fantastic. After driving 45 minutes in traffic I arrived to find out that Pete’s meats and Grill is a butcher shop that serves food. I’ll add that there are two outside tables (in October) for dining. Embarrassed in front of my guests and hungry we decided to stay. (Later in the evening I return to their website to find the word restaurant and grill are used more than once)
After speaking with a butcher in the front we decided to give it a chance. The weather was mild but far from warm and we were there.
We ordered the fish taco’s, lobster roll, pulled pork and pastrami fries. All but the lobster roll were served in cardboard closed containers, not on dishes as seen on the website. By the time our order made it to us the food steamed in the containers. Our waitress apologize for a delay due to being busy.
The food looked fantastic but was marginal. Lobster was sparse and the roll was rubbery. Fish was under seasoned and taco shells were hard. Pastrami fries were a mass, the steam had created an unbreakable block of cheese fries and meat.
All said, I think everything they served has potential and I would go back on a warm summer night.
My suggestion, inform or warn on your website that you do not have tables to dine. And if you continue to use outdoor tables use plates as opposed...
Read moreQuick 411: they're not delivering themselves, but are available on Grubhub, Doordash and Uber Eats. I ordered again and once again they did NOT disappoint. The order was handled perfectly: well packed and nothing was forgotten. And the women who answer the phone: polite and careful even after FOUR phone calls from me and they weren't even taking the main order.
Oh you wanna know about the FOOD? Well YUM. Just YUMMMY! The chicken which I had for the first time is PHENOMENAL. It is fabulously juicy and well marinated hot and is almost even better now cold. I have NEVER had such perfect juicy delicious white meat. I'm a dark meat girl but this is MWAH! The skirt steak (asked for rare and got ... RARE!) and ribs still delicious. Grilled shrimp mmmm and even the RICE is great. The sweet potato fries: a little chewy, a little dry, perfect. Even the bloody lightly grilled PITA bread is delicious! And do NOT forget to get you some of their homemade potato chips. Absolutely ... I'm running out of adjectives. Perfectly crispy, lightly salted, a little thick a little thin. If for some reason one app is missing something, you can call and give your card and they can charge and add an item to the rest of the order. (Ubereats was missing the potato chips and I didn't want to miss them.) I will be moving this place up in my rotation. Not cheap, but honestly worth EVERY penny. Oh and let's get them to go back to doing the veggie couscous - that was...
