Taste of Tuscany - Wayne NJ — Restaurant in Wayne

Well tonight was a night of trial and error. For some reason pasta was on the brain so I decided to try something new to us. I’ve never had stuffed mushrooms that were drenched in broth. And I have stuffed mushrooms made by my off the boat family almost every Sunday - so that’s interesting. Soggy mushrooms make the contents of the “stuffing” insignificant because half falls out or or is drenched just seems like a waste. The same could be said for the eggplant rollatini appetizer. There are chunks of onion in the vodka sauce (which, as far as the order goes, is our fault; it does say it’s in there) which is strange and kind of a waste. The chicken and spinach dish is exactly what it is except was quite wet and flavorless. I know that cooked spinach can be wet but it just seemed soupy. We didn’t order the bread knots but they were dense and dry (the ones they gave). The bread that came with the meals is good! Not crispy if that’s your jam. I’d say mediocre is the best descriptor. I would like to give not 5 star but 10 star to taste of Tuscany in Wayne NJ. My young niece is a regular customer of this restaurant since years. Sadly last week she’s been diagnosed with cancer. She’s had a very stricken diet , while she’s craving for tasty pasta of taste of Tuscany. The very kind caring and generous stuff and management of taste of Tuscany made her a personal pasta for her and brought smile to the face if this beautiful young girl. My story doesn’t end here , the generosity of whole team shows more when they didn’t let us pay for her food. It’s very important to know in this days with all problems we all going through still humanity and loving humans are among us. Good friendly staff but not the best food. Pastas are decent, although they could use more ingredients to add more flavor. Pizzas are a disaster, years ago thos place had a good pizza but now it is basically like a frozen pizza. Dough is bland and soggy, the pie we got yesterday looked and tasted like it was saved under a counter for hours then just reheated with the toppings we ordered, that's the recipe for a bad pizza, a no no! I had the Bolognese pasta which was good and the warm bread we get in the beginning is always a blast (5 stars for the bread).
