Koi Chinese and sushi — Restaurant in Wayne

PEOPLE WITH ALLERGIES BEWARE!!!! We called to double check if certain items had peanuts, eggs, tree nuts, sesame and they said several times it did not. In the middle of dinner my son starts complains his mouth, throat, and stomach hurt. We called again to see what allergen we were dealing with because some are more severe to him than others. Again, the lady said no we do not use any of those items in the dish. I asked if they used peanut oil, sesame oil, and if they use egg to marinate the meat in the dish. She said “No, I don’t think we use those things”. Don’t think!!!! I told her to go to the back and ask the chef….she comes back a minute later and was told the chef used a little peanut butter in the sauce!!! I’m Chinese and this dish does not call for peanut butter and have orders this dish at several different Chinese restaurants. Came here for a quick meal before a hockey game at the Ice Vault. Sushi was good, I liked the variety of rolls available on the menu, and each selection I ate was flavorful. My only complaint was that overall service was slow. I want to clarify though... this is at zero fault of the woman working there, she was alone manning the phone, taking orders, bringing food to both patrons AND dine out orders. Too much for a single person, I genuinely felt bad for her because she was running around non-stop, working extremely hard to not keep people waiting. There has never been a time that I’ve been disappointed. Every item of the menu is delicious and feels like a home made meal. Very affordable prices , compared to all these crazy prices restaurants are charging. Nice and cozy place to sit inside. I will 100% recommend this place to everyone I know.
