The Village Inn — Restaurant in Wayne

Dinner 10/30/21 at 6pm with no one in the dining room when we arrived. We will not be going back.

I was parking the car, dropped off elderly Mom & Wife who were greeted by a male bartender:

“Can I help you?” (and not in a warm, welcoming tone)

“Yes, we’d like to be seated?’

Response: “WHAT”??

“We would like to be seated”

We should have turned a round left right then and there. COVID virus or no Covid virus, where I come from, you don’t get a second chance at a first impression. Especially in the hospitality industry.

In addition, as the dinner hour went on and more people arrived, all parties were seated on the one side of the room, really?! If you’ve been here, you know the room and this made absolutely no sense to me. Honestly, we couldn’t leave fast enough.

Oh, and the Food and Service were average at best for the price.

You may very well enjoy The Village Inn or it’s‘ you’re ‘go-to spot’. However, this is the last time...

We had a great time at one time, until the owner decided to rip us off on drinks so bad. We told him the cheaper wine at happy hour. And while We question him about the bill, the drinks were 12.00 a glass when they should have been maybe 3.00, we also ate just 2 lunches. The first time a bill was $89.00. One of his buddies went really off on us like a maniac, wanted to throw a punch and didnt mind his own business, but he still gets to come in there, and we're not allowed to go there, and we didn't even do anything wrong. He will rip you off on any drink he can cuz he knows you guys are from Newark ,or wherever you get drunk, and he knows you're not worried about what you pay. He'll rip you off to. Think about it. He was totally wrong and we were nice about everything. Not sure he does drugs but he really needs a attitude change and be more polite as a person. We were always there, and...

Had a date night and decided to check out the village inn. We’ve had our eye on this place for a while and we’re glad we stopped by. It’s really cute inside. Has a bar area and a dining area. Our server was great too. Attentive and super knowledgeable of the menu. We had the chicken parm, shrimp scampi and stuffed meatballs as an appetizer. The chicken was perfect, thin & crispy. The shrimp scampi needed a bit more flavor. The meatballs were so tender!! For dessert we had a slice of cheesecake & cannolis. The cheesecake was so good but it can do without the chocolate sauce.
