We took a party of 5 to check out Jerry's. It looks very hip coming in. I liked the decor and it was clean, the floor could of had a sweeping. A lady said to seat ourselves so we chose a large corner booth. The waitress was on top of her game today. We immediately got our menus and drink orders taken. I ordered the combo for the appetizer. It had a mixture of potato crunchers with jalapenos, onion rings and chicken strips. I was brought my salad to, I had ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, the veggie of the day was green beans then I chose their cornbread instead of the usual texas toast. My daughter and son-in-law got taco salad. My son got the hot wings and his girlfriend ordered the grilled cheese. Our waitress filled drink cups as soon as they were empty. It didn't take long for our food to come. The chicken fried steak tasted like and looked like store bought. The mashed potatoes had, I believe, bacon bits in it. They were covered in white gravy. The green beans were bland. I liked the cornbread and salad the best. The rest of them liked their food and couldn't finish it so they asked for containers for take home. I wasn't to impressed with the food, but our waitress was wonderful, we tipped her well. I wouldn't mind going back to check out their desserts, pies, bread pudding, ice cream floats on so on. Before we left we went to check out the restrooms. They were clean but very small. They did have highchairs for...
Read moreI have been going to Jerry's for over 6 years and I have NEVER EVER been treated SO RUDELY by the waiter - His name is BILLY and he apparently was on a HIGH HORSE tonight because he decided to tell my family and I after we had made him aware that there was a mix up on the food and we just suggested that the cook keep an eye on the tickets and the guy came unglued and was being a smart @$$ and said "Well thank you , you dont need to tell me how to do my job ok" and my brother turned around and said well thats why there was a mix up... Well this waiter who is also a cook decided to take it one step further and tell us by coming back to the table "Well you can pay your bill and LEAVE !! or I'll call the cops " this is where I Stepped in and said yes you go right ahead they are going to LAUGH at you because, theres nothing here for them to do. and he kinda gave me this grin and said "Oh really" and i said yeah really they are going to laugh because, you are calling them up here because of a stupid reason. So Unless you want to go have dinner and if your food is wrong don't let them know because you never know if they will threaten to Kick you out of the restaurant.
Making a Complaint makes no difference because after all this time the guy that did that is STILL working there and still acting...
Read moreLet me start by saying the servers are always friendly and you can tell they're working hard. They deserve better from the owner. I've heard from more than one previous employee that they had to leave due to low hours and low pay.
The food has gone downhill and sadly the owner is clearly nickel-and-diming wherever he can to the point it's just too overpriced for what you get. And if you order to go, get ready for an up charge as they charge you for the cheap plasticware whether you ask for it or not. Your order can easily be double the price it lists with how much they overcharge for things they don't tell you about.
Our latest experience: A to-go order of eggs benedict. $10.99. We got a little extra tomatoes and extra hollandaise (I say little because we got very little). The to-go order ended up being $22 BEFORE tip which included a $2 "to-go fee" which was explained to me as "because of the plasticware." Which I should add is too cheap to even use because they're so flimsy.
This is why great local places go under eventually. Greed. Totally unacceptable and sad to see from a once-great restaurant that I've gone to...
