The restaurant is cute. I liked the feel for certain. The walls are decorated with pics of Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. It felt like we went back in time suddenly. The restaurant setting was definitely a five. I loved it. Our server was kind as well. The fresh salsa they bring with chips at the beginning is an added plus. It was definitely delicious and spicy, with fresh bits of jalapeños! I rate that salsa a 5 because I love a strong fresh salsa. My South Texas Burger is definitely fresh. It includes jalapeños, bacon, and cheese. It’s so hard to say though because of all the right reasons: It is so thick. The ground beef steak could use some help with seasoning though and marinated flavor rather than expecting the cheese, mayo, and pickles, to carry it. My children all got the regular burgers which are the others and not the South Texas which is their special. They all claimed their burger meat was dry. They all also said it didn’t have flavor and that if they could guess, those burger patties were frozen. They weren’t all too impressed. The fries were unsalted. I don’t like flavorless fries. I had to add lots of salt and pepper. Once I did so, I enjoyed them so much with some Tabasco. That’s all they needed. The ketchup at our table was rotten. My daughter served so much of it and was disgusted at the passed taste. Her plate was dirty now, and she had to eat around it. We noticed that they became aware of it or remembered that the previous customer who sat there had said it, so they came to remove it without us telling them anything. That was our experience. They receive a three because the burgers that were not the South Texas Special were not tasty and dry. They also have an up charge for grilled onions which I found odd as it is uncommon nowadays. Anyways, I would definitely recommend you try it and that you try only the South Texas patty if you’re going for burgers. As far as the other dishes, we...
Read moreIt must be under new owners or management. New staff and they are friendly and professional, just different. My wife's chicken was overcooked and the nachos arrived half way through eating. The limeade was different from before. It was an ok dinner, just not a great one like before. ✌🏻
I would like to respond to your over use of exclamation points. The fried chicken was definitely overcooked. This time it's me elf's wife that is speaking. The pieces of chicken were most definitely pieces. I had asked for 3 breasts and got 4 pieces of what may have been chicken breasts. The limeade, I might add, did not have it's wonderful flavor as it has in the past. All I can say, is someone did not follow your recipe. I would like to add that I have been a life long customer. Ever since the 80's when I was in highschool. That's been a long time. We have been coming here for years. My favorite has always been your homemade fries and fresh limeade. From now on, I will just...
Read moreThis review is for mediocre service at Salazar's .my wife and I went in to have dinner around 7 pm today. Their food has always been awesome... but today we didn't see any of the normal staff (waitresses) in the restaurant. But hey what could go wrong right I mean how can u mess up just taking a plate to the table. Well today we went in and ordered a burger combo a chicken fried chicken plate and an order of onion rings. guess what we got for the onion rings.. Yeeesss a slice of red onions in a tiny plate, really?... before that our waiter forgot to bring us our drinks and the table right next to us had to get up and get the silverware themselves. The place wanted even busy at the time all this happened. Message to the owner... Please train your new wait staff better and to focus on their job, you already have a great place going so don't ruin it by having this type of service. Your food is great and service with original staff has been...
