Tandoor – A Culinary Journey Worth Savoring ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tandoor is a true gem, offering a rich and authentic Indian dining experience that tantalizes the taste buds and leaves you craving more. Every dish is prepared with precision, care, and a deep respect for tradition. Appetizers: The plate of mixed vegetarian platter: crispy samosas, flavorful pakoras, and fried fritters was a delightful way to start the meal. The medley of chutneys, including tangy tamarind, vibrant mint, and spicy chili pickle, enhanced the flavors beautifully, making each bite an adventure. Entrées: The highlight of the meal was the chicken biryani, perfectly spiced and bursting with flavor, complemented by tender pieces of chicken. The butter chicken was heavenly, with its creamy tomato-based sauce perfectly balanced with spices. The chicken curry added a robust, slow-cooked richness that paired excellently with the aromatic basmati rice. The garlic naan was warm, soft, and charred just enough to scoop up every bit of the decadent sauces. Beverages: The mango lassis were a perfect accompaniment to the meal. Their creamy sweetness provided a refreshing counterpoint to the spices, making them a must-order. Dessert: Just when we thought the meal could not get better, the gulab jamun arrived. These golden, syrup-soaked fried milk cheese balls were a perfect end to the feast. They were warm, soft, and sweet with a delicate hint of fragrance. It was a comforting and indulgent finale that tied the entire experience together. From start to finish, Tandoor delivered excellence. The attention to detail, exceptional service, and beautifully crafted dishes created an unforgettable dining experience. This is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine. Highly recommended!

The garlic cheese Naan is in my dreams. I thought it was so good. It wasn't really cheesy but soft and garlicky. The Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala came in one pound containers so you get a good amount of food. They were really similar but flavorful and very enjoyable. It was my first go at Indian food and I will definitely be trying more. It made me curious what other dishes might be like and I would love to try more. Overall very happy with our food the reviews didn't disappoint. Update: We ate there again and this time we got the paneer and mushrooms & lamb vindaloo. The vindaloo was excellent. We got medium and it had just the right amount of heat before heart burn. Normally I love me some cheese and mushrooms but this was just okay. The sauce wasn't saucy enough to cover rice but may have been better if I used it strictly as a dip. Of the four dishes I've tried only the lamb tasted really different from the other three.

We've been to Indian restaurants all across the country. This one is not in a very showy location. The storefront does not look glamorous. But actually the food there was very good. We particularly liked the chicken curry, and the yogurt. The seating and Decor is Pleasant. The staff person was friendly and attentive. As usual, we came for the buffet lunch. I think that everything we tried was quite tasty, with the spices being just about at the right level. They must have an accomplished cook. And the price was great. If you have not tried Indian food, this would be a good place to start.

The advertising says "fine dining at it's best." They forgot one word, it should be simply, "fine dining not at it's best." Maybe their internal mantra is to overpromise and underdeliver. They succeed at it. The name Tandoor conjures up images of succulent skewered meats and puffy breads freshly brought to the table from high temperature roasting in clay ovens with mouth watering accouterments. I was disappointed. At a recent lunch buffet, other than Punjabi chole, every dish was mediocre at it's best with unbalanced flavors, seasonings and cooking process (basically overcooked). Freshness was nowhere to be experienced except, maybe in the salad and the sliced onions. They even got the ubiquitous chicken tikka masala to taste plain. Now, that takes hard work. Their efforts at Indian-Chinese fusion called Manchurian, rendered them neither Chinese, nor Indian, a half baked experiment. The goat curry tasted stale, the samosas were doughy with a filling of tasteless mashed potatoes and peas. Karhi fared slightly better with adequate tasting sauce but flat tasting dumplings within. White table cloths and fabric napkins impart a resemblance of class but the rather lackluster dishes in humble surroundings provide an experience that should not...

Best chicken tikka masala in Milwaukee and I've had em' all. The buffet is great and the staff though subdued, are welcoming and consistent. All of the food is worthwhile and we've never had anything we didn't like.

So Tandoor has been around for awhile which tells us they have a following and their food is good. I just wonder why they haven't put any money into the presentation of their restaurant. Everything inside looks 2nd hand, bland and weathered. Even the one Indian tapestry hung on the west wall is hung crookedly. The buffet is so yummy but again presentation is kind of sloppy. One can't even really make out the hand written labels telling us what we're looking at. I've only used the bathroom a few times in all the years I've been there but it's pretty sorry looking too. Things could be clean but it doesn't look or feel like it because everything is so shabby. If the owners are seeing this I encourage you to put some more effort and even a little bit of money into it so everyone can see the aesthetic match the quality of the food! We...
