All-Star Maid-Rite Diner — Restaurant in West Burlington

Worst Maid Rite EVER!! Called at 1:30 to check closing time, we were told closed at 5pm grill off at 4:30. We got there at 3:30 and wanted 6 Cheese Maid Rites to go. The cook was cleaning the grill, desserts were put away, and a sign on the door saying they were closing at 4pm. The waitress kept telling us we couldn’t just order 6 sandwiches, we had to get the combo or couldn’t order them. Finally got her to understand just to order sandwiches . We ordered the 6 sandwiches and when the cook put them in the window the waitress and manager were too busy on their phone to get our food. Then they could not figure out how to bag up a to go order. The sandwiches were manhandled and rebagged multiple times. It was the must unwelcoming experience. They clearly did not want anymore customers. We got home and they were the greasy remains of the day’s Maid Rite meat. And apparently the cook was ready to go home because we had big chunks of onions. They WERE NOT diced. No one could finish their sandwich and unfortunately everyone felt awful all night long. My husband called the manager and asked about the onion issue and was told their Maid Rite is different and that’s how they’re always made. It sounded like we weren’t the first ones to complain. As lifelong Maid Rite fans, we will never return and NEVER EVER bring an out of town visitor there again. IF YOU LOVE MAID RITES-DON’T EAT HERE!!!! Should be able to give them...

I highly recommend getting your food to go. I always seem to get the same waitress everytime I go. She is very unprofessional. Takes forever every time I go to even be noticed when we walk in the door. I requested some ranch for my mozzarella sticks and it took me going up to the counter go actually get it. The wait staff is talking about how much they got in tips in front of customers. This one in particular will take your order and not come to check on you but instead will be at the counter on her cellphone texting and talking loudly about...

Waited 30 minutes for simple breakfast....they lost my ticket....this is the second time I have waited way too long for my food. All I got was a sorry....no offer to discount for the inconvenience. Acted like this is normal and I shouldn't be upset about waiting 30 minutes to get my food. I will not be going back. It's a shame cuz I like their breakfast and the atmosphere. But I cannot afford to take an hour for...
