I was in West Chester for an appointment and Googled to find a place to eat a late lunch with good food at a reasonable price. I saw that the Hummus and Pita Grill had a 4.8 rating, so I decided to try it out. I don't eat out often. --When I walked in, I was seated facing the windows. Since my eyes are sensitive to sunlight, I asked to move, which wasn't a problem. --I rated Hummus & Pita Grill at 5.0 for service, as I thought the service was excellent. A young man, who said he was new, waited on me; he answered my questions; and he was attentive. Also, a manager came by during my meal to check up on me. --The weather was cold but sunny that day, and the inside of the place was freezing. My hands were cold, and I kept my lined jacket on the entire stay. --The decor was cheerful and upscale with nice fixtures. There was a napkin holder at the table, dispensing small, thin napkins, like the kind you'd get at an ice cream shop. When I asked for a larger napkin, the waiter said they didn't have any. --Being unfamiliar with some food choices on the menu, I was going to order a gyro chicken sandwich. When I asked about sauces on other items, I had told the waiter that I had a lactose intolerance. The waiter was then kind enough to come back and tell me that there was dairy/milk in the gyro wrap. I then decided on a salad, but the waiter said the only dressing available was ranch. --So I went back to ordering the gyro meat on top of rice, which came with a side of Hummus. When I told the manager it was good, but a little dry, he offered some garlic sauce. But since he said the sauce contained dairy, I asked for some extra hummus. --Because of being cold, I ordered tea, and the waiter brought me a small pot of it. --I suppose that given today's economy, the prices were reasonable. The gyro sandwich turned chicken on rice, was $14.99, and the tea was $2.99. With a 20% tip, the check was $23 and some change. --I'm not in the restaurant business, but may I suggest counter service at lunch to keep pricing down and full service at dinner. Better napkins and temperature control would help, too! A few dairy free options or a different bread vendor would...
Read moreEvery time I come to this unassuming restaurant I am not disappointed. It is usually because I am craving falafel. Let’s be honest, good falafel is amazing. It hits so many satisfactory notes. Every place does theirs differently. This place makes my mouth so happy - every time. The balls are 2-3 bites-sized. So not too big. They have a brilliant golden crust on the outside that is so crisp it stays that way, even when cold. Once you get past the crispy crunchy outside, you are met with a pillowy soft inside that delivers not only a wonderful texture contrast but huge flavor profile. It also isn’t crumby and falling apart. They do not skimp on the seasoning. Strong garlic, parsley, chickpea and red pepper meld together in a delicious bite. Today I also tried the stuffed grape leaves. Just like other items here, they are well made. Tender, but stay together. Perfectly proportioned with the filling. The seasoning is on point and the rice well cooked. When I want this dish. This is want I am envisioning on my palate. Do yourself a favor and try this place. Especially if you like vegetarian dishes and strong flavors. My husband likes their meat dishes but I cannot speak to those. I am sure they...
Read moreI don’t know why they have 4.8 stars maybe a lot of from friends and family but they did us very wrong. They served us Chicken kafta kebab platers with old and some pieces of salad and CHICKEN WAS PREVIOUSLY COOKED AND THEY REHEATED IT FOR US, I thing this is the most disgusting thing a restaurant can do to there customers. They will not serve you water you have to BUY bottles of it. If you compare price wise SULTAN across the street serve same kind of door for abt or little less price but their food and service is way better than this restaurant. Please try Sultan Mediterranean cuisine across the street you will not regret it. This restaurant have lot of potential if they just learn to respect their Customer by treating them nice and make them good and fresh food. I have seen a lot of Restaurent operators from developing areas trying to save a dollar here and there unethically but in the long run this method will result in loss of customers here in USA . Because intellectuals will not wastes their time and energy by arguing at the restaurant but they will for sure will never come back. Because it shows clearly the bad treatment the clever management think...
