We loved coming here as a family with my wife and a 3 year old son. Food is great, my son loved the music and everyone was having a good time.
But then Breezey, restaurant manager, kept telling my 3 year old to sit still in his seat, that he cannot walk around the restaurant, and that he has to keep his feet off the seat cushion. I have visited thousands of restaurants (as we like to go out), many of them more fancier than Barbaro, and no one ever treated us/ told my son to keep still in his seat. He is a 3 year old and he will be moving around. I am not sure what Breezey's upbringing was, but I am not raising my child to be a robot. This is not an isolated incident - happened many times and on multiple locations.
OK, cool. But I would not leave 1 star review just for above. So at one point I said that I wanted to speak with the owner and to provide feedback. Or simply to agree that maybe this is not a family oriented restaurant so that we go somewhere else for the future. If I would have had a chance to speak with the owner, and agree that it is not a good fit, I would not be leaving a 1 star review.
When I asked Breezey to speak with the owner, she said he is not available. Then I asked for a phone number and she said that she cannot give it away. So I gave Breezey my phone number and asked to be contacted by the owner (David) but nobody ever called me back. I stopped by the place one more time and asked Breezey why I was not contacted and she said yes David will call me. Nobody called. I am not sure if Breezey never passed on the message to David or if David did not bother calling me, but here is 1 star review for bad customer service.

Read moreI've heard good things about this place and it's noticeably full when I drive by so I knew they were doing something right. I do have a few neighbors that refuse to check it out because they perceive it as bougie Mex. We went on a cold Saturday night. It was full, but not slammed so we got seated right away. We ordered chips & salsa which is complimentary at most traditional Mexican restaurants, but not here. That said, the chips were fresh and not greasy arriving with 5 samples of salsa which are the chef's choice. The chile was fiery hot on my taste buds which I like. The taquerio was flavorful and my favorite. The pico de gallo, green and red sauce were all good. I ordered an Al Pastor burrito and she had a milaneza de pollo torta. The Al Pastor burrito was flavorful as was everything. It did leave a puddle of grease on my plate, but tasted great. Compared to other taquerias, it was a little light on the meat which only meant no leftovers. The torta was made to perfection with a spread of what tasted like refried black beans. The onions tasted pickled which gave it a different twist. I had a good beer and she said their Paloma was the best she ever had including the ones she had in Mexico, so their drink game is solid. If you're looking for a traditional Mexican dinner plate with rice, refried beans, roasted onions and jalapenos, this is not the spot. Overall, a flavorful outing with quality ingredients, but not the quantity you get from other Mexican restaurants many of which provide both. The food, service and atmosphere make it a worthwhile place for...
Read moreTired of these trendy restaurants that are overpriced and food quality is mediocre at best. Because of the many great reviews our group had been looking forward to this spot for some time now. Even though service from the kitchen was super slow and it wasn't a busy time, the wait staff was great and the main reason for the 2 stars! Our group started with a few drinks and appetizers. Then ordered a few food items and while we wanted very badly to love this place it was a major disappointment! The portions are very small and quality of food is blah so prices are not justified. The nacho appetizer ($12) was so small it looked like a small dip without the nacho chips! Tacos are 2 per order at $8. We tried several varieties including shrimp, tinga, rajas and steak. The shrimp is tough and the batter was bland. The meats (lacked seasoning) and other fillings were skimpy and sadly we were still hungry! Looks can be deceiving. The drinks gave us all pause like wth is this? The piña colada made with mescal is nothing like a traditional pc. so don't bother if you like a lil piña with your colada. All of the drinks had strange flavor profiles. The margaritas had too much going on with the different infusions that just didn't taste right. Sadly with a menu this small you'd think they'd hit the mark with most of their items but overall our group call it a big miss and will not be returning. if you're truly interested in great authentic, unpretentious and reasonably priced Mexican food with decent portions without feeling gauged, do yourself a favor and...
