Best mexican food around the city! There are multiple locations which is glorious so you can get your craving fulfilled wherever you are. This is not your typical cat food looking or tasting, using low quality ingredients, mexican restaurant which you can find anywhere, everywhere! If you want real, genuinely authentic mexican food of excellent quality, variable options and flavors, check it out. The veg 🌯 and breakfast 🌯s are amazing. I have tried multiple tacos as well and they are scrumptious. Flavors are always integrated smoothly for a satisfying experience. Not to mention, their guac is fresh and not too salty, chips are homemade and their salsa has just the kind of heat I desire. For you non-carb or gluten free diners, you can order a 🌯 and just pour out the inside for your meal. There is plenty of fresh, ingredients to keep you smiling. Finally, pleased to find another mexican place I like , and has...

This Cafe Tola # 4 is more crowded and disorganized than other locations. I ordered the same as always: Cafe con Leche y la Empanadas De Guava con Queso. The coffee was identical, but the empanada crust had a different consistency; it was not smooth or warm and had less guava. The service was attentive, and the prices were the same.

I will return and try the other empanadas; Cafe Tola offers at least ten different empanadas to discover.

I spent $9.66 for a medium coffee and one empanada, similar to Starbucks prices but less corporate, with better food and a more pleasant atmosphere. I am grateful we have more choices for morning coffee for Hispanic preferences. I lower the rating because the bathroom is used as storage, which could be acceptable if things were neat and organized. But it gives a wrong impression when...

I live near the cafe but it took me a really long time to try it because it was never open. One day, walking by in the evening I was surprised to find the cafe open. The coffee and empanadas were pricey but good. Despite trying to go back repeatedly, it's never open! Pay no attention to posted business hours, they mean nothing. Today was the last straw, when I went by at 3pm, the lights were on, as I tried to open the door, I found it locked and the two women inside turned off the lights and ignored my knocking. I was going to ask what their hours are. Now they've lost a customer. This business is all out of chances. P.S. There's nowhere to sit as the front of their storefront is used at storage space, so not a welcoming...

Great Empanadas 🥟, slightly overpriced but great quality. I always craved Guava & Cheese combo which I first had in Brazil (not in 🥟) but in other similar street food and till date haven't found that combo in Chicago. THEY have it, if you like Guava, a tropical fruit, combo is divine. One of their other ones I like was Negra Rojas, plantains and Goat cheese, was a very interesting combo with mushy black beans with slight sweetness from plantains to balance with salty & tart goat cheese. Taco was good filling but was falling apart for carry out. Maybe best if you eat there unless they use double corn tortilla. Regardless would go back and Definitely recommend!!

On a brutally hot 95 degree day, Cafe Tola managed to save me with delicious food. Food: I ended up stopping here after a long walk in the heat with some friends. I got the chicken salsa verde burrito with was exceptional and washed it down with a water and glass bottle Coke. Couldn't ask for anything more. Service: I only dealt with the cashier, but she was super nice and patient with me. Aesthetic: Wasn't a fan of the drink stock being in the middle of the floor, but it is a small place so it is understandable. I did like the vibe and it was a nice "quick-eats" spot.
