Nakama Toys — Local services in West Chicago Township

For my Gundam people visiting Chicago from Missouri/Kansas you MUST stop by here. I found this place online after searching for hobby shops since I was visiting Chicago for a vacation. They post very frequently on social media and there’s plenty of inventory of kits. All grades including mega size are available but what I love the most is that they carry some Pbandai kits. That’s right! Those monochrome boxes you can only get back in Japan? Right in Chicago. It’s not an extensive selection but there’s plenty to choose from. Online shopping is also an option if you can’t go in. The owner was really nice. She talked to me for awhile and told me how often they get new inventory. She was incredibly nice and informative. I managed to get one MG on my first visit and then a HG on my second visit. It was very close to closing time on my second visit but she let me in and I made my purchase. I could have spent hours in there. Multiple walls of kits. And even if you don’t like Gundam there’s other things they sell to satisfy your anime heart like Naruto and one piece toys, models, collectibles and the like. They don’t ship perfect grades but everything else is fair game. I will definitely be stopping by here again when I return to the city. Go go...

Very rude to us, will not be returning.

Coming from out of town and we knew we were running late but wanted to step in briefly for the 1st time to check out their selection for next time. Knocked on the door as instructed by the sign at 6:52 and the woman unlocked the door asking if it was pick up. We said no and she said the store was open for 3 more minutes. We asked if we could step in for 3 minutes, she reluctantly let us in but stood there with her arms crossed with attitude. My boyfriend said, is it 3 minute or 7 minutes? And she replied “or you could just leave”. We felt very awkward but said “oh no 3 minutes are fine” and looked around for less than 30 seconds in which she said he was “incredibly rude” and proceeded to put her coat on.
