I am from the neighborhood and have been putting off buying food from them since we have plenty of places to choose from. I have seen the reviews and even a video of comedian Ralph Barbosa go there to eat, so I figured they have to be good. Yesterday we decided to visit the Taco and Tamales fest and after seeing the long lines we decided to go and get tacos at La Maribel. I understand that maybe because of the event going on a few blocks they would be busy. The way we were greeted was not the best and right away were were told that the wait would be 30-40 minutes long. We did decided to place the order anyways. During the wait to get our food we saw maybe 10 orders altogether. We did noticed a customer pick up an order of burritos and she asked for more salsa and was told no. Not given an option to maybe swap salsas or buy and extra few, just a no! Another customer that ordered ahead came to get his order and still had to wait another 15-20 minutes. When they repeated the order, the staff was missing a few items. The customer repeated the order and one of the items, the asada fries was without onions. Well they made it with onions and the customer was told that if they wanted him to redo the order it would be another 30 minutes or so. Finally we got our stuff and decided to go home, I live a block away. I ordered me 2 asada tacos, a pastor and a carnitas tacos. First of all $5 a tacos, I am sorry that is not affordable. The carnitas tacos did not taste anything like carnitas. I added salt and lime juice from my own stash since we were not given a single slice of lime for the 18 tacos. The pastor I didn’t care for, my wife said it was ok. The asada that everyone raves about was pasable at best, again I had to add salt. Personally I think is overrated and pricey. They definitely need to work on the staff to be more courteous to customers. Salsas were...
Read moreCame when I seen a video on social media saying it was great food and service. The man taking orders was absolutely rude and rushed us. We ordered no ice on horchatas and gave us a cup of just ice and little bit of horchata. The line was just three people still took 30 minutes for the food. When we would kindly ask about it when it would be ready he was really rude in Spanish saying when it’s ready it’s ready. None of the salsa bottles were filled when I asked for a refill he came back lecturing me saying I’m hindering the morale of the store in Spanish bc he’s taking time to help us. And gave me a bottle even less salsa and told me to share with a stranger in the table. We both didn’t even use it. We took our food and left. I’ve had better seasoned tacos else where and service this service and food had declined since it’s blow up on social media years ago. Would not want to go if you plan on pricey food and rude service will not be returning don’t even bother apologizing im putting this on all social...
Read moreI learn of this establishment from TikTok so I decided to patronize. The atmosphere wasn’t really pleasant for me I didn’t feel welcome at all. No one greeted me or anything. I got strange looks I can’t decipher was it good or bad. The restaurant is located in the back of a liquor store. The men made my food pretty quickly which I like that about this place. For three tacos I paid 16 dollars kind of pricey for three tacos and no sides but it’s what I order. I didn’t wait to get home I pull over and tried my tacos. The tacos were very fresh which is a good thing and hot. I would rate the tacos 3 out of 5 I’ve had better. The tacos wasn’t bad at all I’ve just had better. Would I go back probably not. Oh I forgot to mention when I was checking out the cashier was very nice and friendly wonderful customer service it made me feel better about my experience...
