I went here to do service hours and I felt very annoyed. I really love helping others, don't get me wrong, but this one lady I worked with while doing my service hours here clearly didn't like other's helping. She was rude, inconsiderate and someone I would question in allowing to help at the church. While doing service hours there I over heard her saying "these kids only care about their service hours and not actually helping others." ....really? At one point while making dinner, the main person in charge asked me and another volunteer to get some cabbages in their storage area. Once we came back with them this lady told us to place them down at the table and was showing us how to clean them. As soon as she finished, within about 10 seconds she yelled at us saying "well what are you standing there for?! I'm not going to pass them to you?!" Her attitude really made the volunteers and I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome...Not to mention she wouldn't stop complaining while serving the homeless food saying "why do I have to do this? I'm tired of this." ....In short she's a really annoying person who has really gotten on my nerves...still plan on going back to help though. Just hope on not running into her again. For those who go there to do service hours or volunteer, I hope and pray you don't meet her and share...
Read moreAs a fellow catholic, it is with great sadness that I write this review. It was always express to me by my church that the home of God is a home to us all. A community built with respect, love and patience. My sister, loves attending St.Pius and travels a long distance to attend mass. Why? Because St.Pius had demonstrated that essence of community that she loved. But after today, our family will retreat from this church till further changes are done within the Office management. Today June 29th my sister was disrespected by an office employee. I describe this lady because I hope further action is taken upon her. This senior white lady express so much hate and I quote “ go home to your community and church”. Every church is a community and a home to us all. The ladies frustration was over my sister asking if she could email the church in regards to inscriptions for the holy sacraments.
How will St. Pius going forward further strengthen community? Well if I may suggest, let us start with those whom are at office and have direct interaction with its people.
As our leave hurts, I am happy to know that they are many Catholics loving...
Read moreSound system low grade. Benches solid wood and not comfy. The church feeds junkies and homeless during the day causing vagrant to steal in the vicinity of church from cars and yards. The priest are generally low energy and do little for the surrounding community.. hopefully the church doesnt end up like st adalberts on 17th and paulina abandoned. And finally the church seems to think trash around the building and 2 parking lots will be magically picked up by Angel's. Get a broom🤦♂️... ON A SIDE NOTE FATHER BRENDAN "PRIEST" still in pilsen...
