Bob’s Pizza is one of those places that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a neighborhood gem. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, with the smell of bubbling cheese, charred crust, and sizzling toppings drifting through the air the second you walk in. It’s the kind of place that feels both familiar and exciting, like your favorite childhood pizza joint. We went with the sausage pizza, and honestly, it blew our expectations out of the water. The presentation was simple and classic, but every element was crafted with clear attention to detail. The crust was perfectly thin and crisp along the edges, with just the right amount of chew toward the center. It had that beautiful wood-fired blistering that adds a hint of smokiness with every bite. The sausage itself was the standout, juicy, slightly spicy, and full of flavor. You could taste the fennel and garlic, and it was crumbled generously across the pizza, ensuring every slice was packed with savory bites. The tomato sauce was bright and tangy, balanced with a slight sweetness that played beautifully against the richness of the sausage. The cheese was gooey and melty, pulling apart in perfect strings, and served piping hot, it melted in your mouth with each bite. This pizza transported me back to late nights in the city, grabbing slices with friends after a show, comforting, nostalgic, and completely satisfying. For anyone who appreciates a high-quality pizza made with care, Bob’s Pizza is an absolute must-visit. Don’t skip the sausage, it might just become your new favorite.

Some friends and I ordered takeout from Bob’s Pilsen location. The pizza is thin-crust like New York-style pizza, with a large puffy crust— it’s technically called “Pilsen-Style”. We ordered 3 pies— Korean BBQ Chicken, Spinach Pesto and Stracciatella, and normal Cheese. I personally liked the Spinach Pesto and Stracciatella the best— I’m always a fan of arugula on pizza; added with the white cheese + prosciutto, it made a great combo. Fresh, savory, and delicious. I also liked the Korean BBQ Chicken pizza— a unique option with a sweet and tangy kick from the BBQ sauce and kimchi. The cheese was pretty standard. Each pie comes with 8 slices but each slice really massive, so the prices are pretty reasonable for the size (~$25 / pie). Although we only did takeout, the vibes of the dine-in location looked really nice, so I’d love to come back with a group in the future to dine in and also try their more famous pickle pizza! — Price (relative to peers): 4.2/5 Food: 4.2/5 Ambience: N/A Service: 5/5 (takeout) Overall Value: 4.2/5

Great pizza with an incredible dough. Thin (not cracker thin) and crispy with a delightful chew. Hand tossed to order (which does take more time depending on how busy they are) results in a light crust pocketed with crunchy bubbles. The standard pizza is 16", but an 8" is available if you walk in. No slices are sold here. At first this bummed me out until the owner explained why. Simply put, they cook every pie to order, fresh fresh fresh. And you can't cook a slice. You won't find half eaten pizzas under a heat lamp here. I recommend a traditional sausage pizza (thiers is topped with pickled onions, a hint of lemon) and the meatballs (house pickles, pickled onions, black pepper mayo, and biscuit like bread). Currently Bob's is BYO, there is a liquor store across the street (closes at 9pm) and they keep it cold for you. They said they are getting thier license soon, as well as a patio. Happy hour? Yes! But one pie get one free. Absolute gem. Welcome to Pilsen Bob!

TL; DR - The pizza was good but not great; the service was atrocious.

My friends and I ordered a sausage pizza and a pickle pizza. The kitchen was slammed with takeout orders when we arrived, so we expected a bit of a wait. That said, it took an hour and a half for our first pizza to arrive, and two hours for the second one. While we waited, I went to the front counter and asked a staff member for water. I had to return and ask three more times before we finally received some.

The sausage pizza came out first. It was good, but ultimately nothing special (certainly not worth waiting for an hour and a half). While the pickled onions on top were tangy and sweet and the crust was perfectly baked, it did not have a lot of sausage. It was more like a cheese pizza with some pickled onions thrown on top, which did not meet my expectations.

The pickle pizza was next. This one was more interesting - it's a white pizza with pickles, mortadella, and dill. Overall, it was good - the flavors played well together, the quantity of toppings was good, and I was glad that there was no tomato sauce - but it was nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, ours was short on dill (apparently they ran out), which could have perked it up a bit.

While my experience may have been a fluke, that does not diminish its unpleasantness. I get that many restaurants run on thin margins and need to provide delivery services to make money, but doing so at the expense of one's dine-in patrons does not seem like a recipe for long-term success. Perhaps adding a couple of staff members to the kitchen during peak ordering hours could alleviate some...
