Curry On Fire indian Cuisine — Restaurant in West Chicago Township

Extremely Rude Customer Service. TLDR at the end.

I had a takeout delivery set to pick up at 12:45. The restaurant opens up at 12:30 and the order was pretty large, so I did not expect the food to be ready by then.

When I walked into the store, I asked how long it was going to take. The woman who greeted me said "Your food should be ready 12:45". I was suprised and asked if she was sure and she said "Of course!". However, even at 12:55, there was no sign of readiness. I asked how much longer and was told "just 5 minutes".

Once she told me this, I ordered the uber to pick me up 7 minutes after. The food did not arrive on time and I had to ask the driver to cancel the Uber as I would not be able to make it.

This was a time sensitive order, and any longer would have set our event back. I had to wait until 1:15 until the food was finally ready. (30 minutes from the initial time she told me the food would be ready)

Honestly, I was not as mad at the food being late compared to the woman blatantly lying twice to me about the time. I had to call my supervisor multiple times about possibly delaying the event and had to cancel the Uber.

I asked her why she lied to me about the time and to that she had very weak responses. She gave excuses such as "We just opened" (which I addressed if that would cause a delay as soon as I got in the restaurant) and they had everything ready but just needed the bread (which literally makes no sense in this argument).

This is the worst part: I did not get a sorry from her at all. She gave me the food, had me sign the receipt, and walk away. I stopped her and asked her, "Am I not going to get an apology?", to that she said "We did the best we could". After she realized how rude that sounded, she gave me a "sorry", which could have not felt any more ungenuine.

Her response made me boil in my head, so I decided to write this long winded review. Definetly am not going to visit ever again.

TLDR: Lied to twice about when the food was coming out. Had to cancel Uber because of this. Did not get a sorry, but instead excuses...

The current state of this restaurant Indian food authencity is pathetic. I think management changed and have lost their touch.

I am picky about Indian dishes and am a harsh critic. This restaurant amazes me every time I taste a new dish. They seem to know the inherent nature of spices and combinations that enhance or tease the taste bud experience. Enjoy the ambiance as it is simple yet conveying the subtle nature of being in the company of Indians who don't care who is around when discussing movies or cricket.

I recently ordered a take out and was surprised at the change in taste and completeness of the dishes. Mirchi bajji picture on the menu shows traditional pepper/chilli with batter but what was served was pieces of pepper battered and fried with no resemblance to a mirchi bajji. Chicken 65 retained its taste. Chicken curry tasted funny. I ordered 2 butter naans and was not included in the take out. When i called, they were insisting the naan was in the bag. I lost my temper because the tone sounded that i was lying. When i can afford a tip for a take out, why would i lie about missing items that cost only $4. The owner needs to pay attention to quality and service...
