I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Neighborhood Hotel during my staycation in Chicago, and I must say it was a truly delightful experience. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I was captivated by the modern and visually stunning design that permeated throughout the entire hotel.
The first thing that caught my eye was the abundance of natural light flooding the lobby through big windows, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. This theme continued into the rooms, where the generous size stood out in comparison to other Chicago hotels I've stayed in. The spaciousness made it a perfect fit for families of all sizes, providing ample room for everyone to feel comfortable and at ease.
The cleanliness and freshness of the hotel were immediately apparent, giving off a sense of care and attention to detail. The rooms were not only impeccably clean but also boasted a modern aesthetic that seamlessly blended functionality with style. The kitchen appliances were top of the line, making it easy for families or individuals to prepare meals with ease.
One of the most unique and charming features of The Neighborhood Hotel was the pink bathrooms. A bold and unexpected choice, these bathrooms added a touch of whimsy and personality to the overall design. It was a refreshing departure from the typical hotel bathroom, and I found it to be a delightful and memorable aspect of my stay.
Security was a top priority, and I felt completely at ease knowing that the hotel took the safety of its guests seriously. The location of the hotel in a nice area made it an ideal starting point for exploring all that Chicago has to offer. Whether I wanted to stroll through nearby parks, explore cultural attractions, or dine in the city's vibrant culinary scene, The Neighborhood Hotel provided a convenient and secure home base.
In conclusion, my stay at The Neighborhood Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the spacious and modern rooms to the unique pink bathrooms, every aspect of the hotel contributed to a memorable and enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a stylish and family-friendly oasis in the heart of Chicago, I highly...
Read moreEasily a five star experience, being the first time doing this kind of hotel/Airbnb hybrid me and my family had a blast staying at this hotel. However I also have some tips/feedback to keep in mind in case you are looking to book this hotel:
The company is very small so they don't have the man-power to properly do early check-in/late check-out. They can give you the access codes more early but you will have to still wait for your room to be ready until 3:00 p.m (even a little more).
In case you arrive early they do have a baggage storage in the lobby, be sure to send them a message saying that you need it and they will you access to it so you can drop you bags and explore little Italy while you wait for your room. This is where I wish that they were a little more clear with this, the only place you can find this information is in a sign inside the elevator but by that point in the morning you will not have a reason to use it until 3 p.m.
Make sure to check if they have your correct phone number, otherwise they could be sending you text messages with important information with you none the wiser. Also I don't know if this only works with US residents since this communication issue never got resolved for me but don't worry you still can communicate with them via email with no problem.
Any request you have must be via email/text even if you find one of the workers there they will tell you the same, be sure that they will respond to you, but keep in mind the quickness of it will depend of the time of the day and the type of request that you are making.
Other than that this hotel is a safe bet: secure, close to the university and medical areas of the city, a lot of public transportation options, LOTS of restaurant to eat (Busy Burger, Chilango's and Pompei are a must), you will met a lot of lovely people and is relatively new so the rooms are very clean and the workers will have the genuinely interest to give you the best stay possible (shout-out to Jonathan for helping me and my family during the confusion of the first day). You can't...
Read moreWow, wow, wow. I was a little hesitant staying here when I found out there was no front desk at the hotel. When we arrived we realized that Expedia did not provide us with a code to our room even though it stated that we will be sent instructions and an access code 24 hours before our arrival. We started to become irritated because the number the hotel provides directs you to message them instead. Luckily we did find a worker there at the time and he was able to provide us with our access code within seconds. The rooms were so nice and spacious. So much lighting and fixtures throughout the whole apartment. I loved how the hotel provided, pots and pans, silverware, seasonings, and even a steamer. What I loved best about the apartment was the beds were super comfortable and had body pillows. The air conditioners in each room also really made the coziness of the room as if it was your own. The bathrooms were so cute and we loved how it was pink and we had double sinks. The only cons was the bathroom that there wasn’t any ledge space to put any of your own shower products in, and the shower head had very weak water pressure it only had like 7-10 spray holes so the water will only hit like one part of your body. I have stayed at cheaper hotels with better shower heads. I believe the goal was to match the shower head color with the design of the shower but picking out a decent shower head would’ve really made a difference. I only took 1 shower on my 2 day stay because it was hard to enjoy. 1 of the towels that was provided had a stain on them. By the hotel being a do it yourself they did a wonderful job providing extra towels and blankets in the closet of your rooms. I think a hotline number for the hotel as well as a better shower head would make my experience a 10/10 but I’ll...
