So first time here, first the good, the chicharon prensado (pressed pork) was absolutely phenomenal. The best thing there, second is the chicharon en salsa verde. The rajas con queso is good as well. The rice and beans are good also. I ordered the 10 gordita family pack, I got 3 carne asada, 2 chicharon prensado, 1 pollo en salsa tomate, 1 rajas con queso, 1 chicharon en salsa verde, 1 desebrada, 1 barbacoa. The bad. The carne asada and the barbacoa were not good. The quality of the meat is very subpar, even though they charge you extra if you order either of these 2, very disappointing. Do not order these if you come here.
I would say that at $2 a piece, the filling in each gordita was just about right it wasn't too little. That being said however each one ends up being more expensive if you don't buy the $20 family pack and if they fill them the same then I would definitely say that the filling isn't enough.
The chips and salsas were excellent and having everything accesible for self serve is great.
I tried the horchata and the Jamaica and they both tasted like powdered drink mixes.
The café de olla was quite good once I mixed some cream in there as before it was a little too sweet. Café de olla is traditionally presweetened with piloncillo.
overall I will definitely come back but I'll probably only order the chicharron prensado and chicharon in salsa verde. If I would have only ate that I probably would have given the place 5 stars but the other stuff...

One of the ladies started using scented beads again, and this creates intense stinging, painful nerve sensations in sensitive customers like me.
I noticed that it is not gain cented beads. It is something else, but it is equally painful and damaging to the nerves
Staff: Please don't use perlas aromáticas (scent beads), and also please don't use SUPER ITCHY GAIN detergent, either. It's too much to eat inside while itchy.
Anyway, I've been coming here for years, sometimes with my family, and we spend probably close to $100 per week. At least one of the women here appear to be starting to use those new dangerous and toxic Gain scent beads on their clothes. This causes immense suffering and nerve pain in sensitive individuals. 🥺 if they continue using these extremely painful and itchy products, we are not coming back to this restaurant anymore. Instruct all of your employees: new and old to never use Gain or any other brand scent beads on their clothes, as this causes toxic reactions in 1/3 of the population, which equates to 1/3 of your customer base
Al menos un empleado comenzó a usar perlas aromáticas Gain en su lavado, y si tiene asma, eczema o alergias, su experiencia gastronómica aquí será un infierno absoluto. Estas perlas aromáticas súper tóxicas crean aire...
Read moreThe food was absolutely positively delicious. They only sell 3 food items...gorditas, quesadillas, and burritos. But they have a plethora of fillings to choose from. There are over a dozen fillings. After five minutes of indecisiveness I settled on a gordita de chorizo con papas and another filled with chicarron prensado. They have a drink fountain so you can serve yourself your own horchata, limonada and agua de jamaica. While you wait for your food you can help yourself to ALL YOU CAN EAT CHIPS AND SALSA! Yes, you read that right. They have all different kinds of salsa too. I was in salsa heaven lol the kitchen looks clean and you can see them preparing your food hot and fresh and they bring it to your table. I went on a Sunday afternoon and I probably waited about 10 minutes for my food. The women behind the counter were very helpful and pleasant. This is such a unique restaurant for being located in Little Village and I loved their overall concept for this spot. I will most definitely be returning to Gordillas!...
