Lemming's Tavern is, without a doubt, the best dive bar I've stumbled upon in the Windy City. It's a place that knows how to keep things simple while adding a generous dose of hilarity to the mix.

What truly sets Lemming's apart is the refreshing absence of the usual "bro-tastic" crowd, which, let's be honest, can sometimes be more obnoxious than a chatty parrot with a megaphone. Lemming's, on the other hand, exudes vibes and respect in equal measure.

I, in my infinite wisdom, decided to test the culinary waters and attempted to order food. Little did I know, Lemming's Tavern specializes in serving up ONLY DRINKS! John, the bartender extraordinaire, swooped in to save the day. With a wink and a grin, he advised me to embrace modern technology and order delivery if I had a hankering for grub. John's kindness and comedic timing instantly turned Lemming's Tavern into my personal comedy club.

The atmosphere at Lemming's is as chill as a polar bear in a snowstorm. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and have a conversation without someone yelling in your ear about their fantasy football team's misadventures.

All in all, Lemming's Tavern is the real deal - a haven for laughter, relaxation, and great times. It's like the unicorn of dive bars in Chicago - hard to find, but once you do, you'll keep coming back for more laughs...

It's my first time here and I'm impressed. Neurodivergent friendly !! I sometimes open and close a check, I don't talk much, I sit away from people, I play with my hair, I fidget in my seat, there is always a bag with sports equipment. Sometimes I get shade because those are red flags in a bar. I get it. I'm also a female POC. The bartender didn't make me feel weird when I explained my dyscalculia scribble on the check(s) or when I asked prices a couple of times. Super friendly neighbourhood bar which I accidentally found when we needed to to take shelter from a heavy rain shower a few years ago. I go back to Lemmings every visit now. Jeff and the other bartender (didn't get his name) with the long hair are so friendly, plus one of the locals invited my wife and I to stop by for a chilli cook-off at the weekend. We did and met some great folks and ate (lots) of delicious chilli.
