So I pull up for the drive-through here, And noticed a huge banner that says ‘OREO-Shamrock’ Shake. Never had it but I’m convinced to try it. Obviously a special. So I go ahead and order an Oreo-shamrock shake & 2 cookies. Easy order. I pull up in the lady tries to hand me a regular shamrock shake, to which I say, ‘Um Miss, I wanted the Oreo-Shamrock shake.’ To which she says’ ‘Oh we don’t have shamrock shakes with Oreo’. So I say ‘yes you do, There’s an advertisement the size of the drive-through panels Advertising the Oreo Shamrock shake, That’s why I ordered it.’ So, a mistake is OK, I can live with that people are human, I’ve worked in many restaurants, it that happens. So this is what made me upset. To get out of accommodating me and not remaking it she says, ‘Oh well it will just be a little bit of Oreos sprinkles on top that’s all’. To which I said, ‘ No, it would be mixed all the way through just like the picture shows and just like a regular Oreo shake vanilla would be only it would be in the Shamrock mint ice cream instead’. So I just point I don’t want somebody modifying anything for me that doesn’t want to do it obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing. I will say when I managed restaurants or worked in them, we have team meetings about what the special is of the month or season were so that everybody knew to convey that to the customer. Getting the order wrong, the fact that she had no idea what the special was, And then to just make up as she’s going along that it’s just a ‘few sprinkles on top’ so why bother, Was quite disconcerting. That be like me saying oh I want onions on my burger and she says oh it’s just a few tiny little onions, Or that I’d want to chicken Caesar salad if she tries to get me to keep the salad because it’s just a few chunks of chicken, That’s just weak and off putting. She should’ve went and made me a proper Oreo Shamrock shake if she didn’t hear of it and knows she can do it she should’ve checked the receipt, or ask a manger. So in the end no...
Read moreThis place can give a new meaning to rush hour. During peak times such as lunch and dinner hours( approx 11a.m.-1:30p.m. & 5p.m.-6p.m., respectively) the two lane drive thru is often jam packed, sometimes spilling onto Kedzie and causing a bit of traffic inconvenience. Not to mention there are extensive wait times to even get to order inside and outside (at lunch rush more than dinner generally) but once the order is made it does not take as long as I'd think given then amount of customers. During these times, I have found it best to drive to another nearby McDonald's (if you must) such as near Cermak and Western, that location can be a bit less busy even during peak hours. Another perk is online ordering with Curbside pick up, great for a timed work/ school lunch time or you just don't like long lines like me. ( Additionally, there are other food options within a 1 block radius in nearly every direction if you don't have the time or inclination for ordering through the app). Otherwise it is your average McDonald's nicely located near an intersection beaming with a variety of businesses. So if you find yourself shopping near 26th and Kedzie you may want to pop in here especially if you're on foot since there's nothing particularly special (good or bad, other than prime location, I surmise) about this drive thru/ dine in . On the other hand if you're driving, when it's not bumper - to - bumper busy you can see that it has a nice sized parking lot esp. for this area with stores packed like sardines. And if you need to, you can get gas directly across the street!
Overall, if you're hungry they'll take care of that without usually taking too much time or money. Always, check your order though because I can't promise it will always be right the first time -...
Read moreMarch 16, 2023:. I had to stop at this location for an Emergency restroom visit. I was taking the Pace home from Northwestern Medicine believing I had an UTI. The doctor kept me waiting over an hour and I had to be on time for Pace, so I left the doctor's cubicle.
There were 2 Black males with attendants and one Mexican without mobility difficulty on the bus.
The first Black male got off in the Mag. Mile district. The second to get off was the Mexican in Little Village near the Collins H. S. and Pink Line. That is were nature called with a fecal incontinence. Hence, the Driver stopped at the McDonald's for me. It was too late. The restroom was clean and so were the stalls, but no toilet paper in the stall I used. I had to go undressed to the next stall for toilet paper, while there were female users at the bathroom basins. The final Black male got off somewhere near Hansen Park, Fullerton and Ogden, in the alley. That is North Austin. Then the Driver mentioned about Pizza places near my home.
I have to see the doctor at 11:00 am to take the Brown line to the Galter Center and home again to bypass rush hour. If I get an urgent need for care, I now, using a walker, have to see another doctor closer to home.
Thanks McDonald's for being there. My Uncle owned a McDonald's in Sacrament 1960-? My cousin and...
