The owner in so many words told me that I need to be white to get the same privilege that the 2 ladies that were white received when I walked in.

I arrived and was walking up to the counter.

I was waiting for my brother to enjoy some dessert.

Since my brother did not arrive and was on his way I sat down.

The owner had his employees pretend to look in the trash next to me 2 times within a matter of 2 minutes.

I kept looking outside for my brother, and actually called him to make sure he was o k. He was stuck in Chicago traffic. My call could clearly be heard

The owner couldn’t help himself. Guess I was the wrong skin complexion

He asked if he could help me

I told him that I was waiting for someone

The interaction left me feeling unpleasant

I had a conversation with him advising of the above

He cut me off and said he didn’t need to listen to me because he was the owner

The Dubai chocolate was DELICIOUS! As of today (3/22/25) they still have bars and circles of the viral Dubai chocolate, and it was just like I saw online. Been craving to try it for weeks, and was so happy to find a place that had them. It was well wrapped and very tasty. I will say I ordered the circle, and it was very small, but it is very rich so it's a good size to try it without buying the whole bar. I do have to recommend the full bar though, because it's really pretty, and trust me, you're gonna want that much of it. It's pricey, but it's a lot of specialty ingredients and work to make them, so I think it's very much worth it. It's soft enough that it even splits in half like in the videos, and has the proper crunch as well.

I can't vouch for any other items at the store, but the chocolate bar was fabulous and...

I ordered via doordash and was super excited as I had wanted to try a Japanese cheesecake for years. I also ordered the CHOCOLATE French custard tarte and a caramel macchiato. 2 of the items I received were wrong. Not sure if they were out of what I ordered or made 2 mistakes but if they were out, they made no effort to reach out and just sent something else. These are pricey so i obviously wasn't happy to get something other than what I ordered. Especially as the tarte that was incorrect is something I don't like. (Sent a regular custard tarte based on the photos.)
