Absolutely not worth it, and if you must go, definitely request to NOT have the staff member named Arin help you.
Signed up for the 1 hour shoot and spin. Whole experience felt rushed, and the lack of direction provided by Arin set us up to create a subpar outcome. Arin showed little enthusiasm and seemed to not want to be there. When asked for guidance, Arin would just repeat "there's no wrong way to do it". Although art is art and there's no "wrong" way to create it, for this experience there are definitely specific tactics and tricks that can be applied to achieve a better outcome, and none of these things were mentioned.
My wife specifically told Arin that she wished to distribute white paint across different balloons. Despite this, Arin went ahead and filled the first balloon entirely with white paint anyways, insisting it shouldn't matter. Ummm ok. Well when the white balloon was the last one to be shot down it basically overtook all of the other colors, and our painting didn't look good at all because of this. It was offered to add more colors at the end, but it honestly wasn't going to fix the travesty.
The way the balloons are positioned also matters (but we were told it doesn't). Why would we knowingly position balloons in a line so that one shot pops them all? This was not mentioned. Part of the fun is the gimmick of shooting down the balloons, and when multiple were popped in one shot it lessens the fun.
The price for this experience is high. There should be no expectation to tip and staff members should be paid well enough, but some people may still choose to tip if the experience is amazing or the person helping is outstanding or whatever. There is a nice collage of Venmo and Zelle stickers for those who want to tip, and it is impossible to not notice this. Arin went ahead and mentioned the Venmo/Zelle stickers anyways, and then had the audacity to awkwardly stand there for a good 30 seconds of silence waiting to see if one of us would tip. My wife fell for this tactic and sent over a pretty generous tip. Wish we could rescind the tip because Arin didn't utter even the smallest thank you despite definitely seeing a tip was sent. The words ungrateful and entitled don't even do Arin justice.
Finally, the art is kept for 5 days. We don't live in the city and it's not the easiest for us to come get. The fifth day landed during a very bad snow storm. My wife emailed asking for an extra day, but nobody bothered to respond. I guess they tossed our art.
Take your money and go elsewhere to create art. This...
Read moreI was really excited to bring my art obsessed 7 year old here. I booked the “spinning for 2” class for 2 people which was $75 for each person. I also added a “chaperone” for $30 so both my husband and I could go in with our daughter. Each experience they offer has to be parties or 2+ or 4+. I paid $186.69 (plus $10 tip) for this experience.
I assumed since it was “for 2” that both people would get to create an art piece. However when we got there they told us our package only included one small canvas. Im not sure why I paid $75 for each person if there was only one canvas included.
We got to our room and the first 20 minutes was solely filling the paint syringes. Then we had about 5 minutes of actual spinning where my daughter got to shoot the syringes of paint at the canvas while it was spinning. After the spinning, we were allowed to paint on the walls of the room for about 20 minutes.
We were told we would get an email when our art work was dry in 2-3 days. To top it off there were QR codes in every room so you could tip your instructor on top of the already insane prices.
We got an email 6 days after our experience to come and pick up our art work. We were going out of town the week after our art session so we didn’t even end up getting to pick up our art because they only hold it for 14 days after your experience.
I would never consider coming back to Shot of Art. It has some good areas to take pictures for social media but other than that I am completely unsatisfied with my experience and I would not recommend this...
Read moreTonight, our family had the pleasure of participating in the Shot of Art Fluid Paint Experience, and it was nothing short of amazing! As a busy family balancing my career as a realtor, my husband’s dedication to running his tattoo shop, and our son’s school life, finding quality time together can be a challenge. This art experience gave us the perfect opportunity to slow down, bond, and unleash our creativity in a fun and relaxing way.
The setup was welcoming, and the hosts were incredibly engaging, making it easy for all of us—regardless of skill level—to dive right into the painting process. Watching our son pour his heart into his art and seeing my husband take a break from his tattooing precision to enjoy fluid, carefree strides made the evening even more special. The laughter, playful competition, and splashes of color brought joy that will last beyond tonight.
We left with not just unique pieces of art , but priceless memories as a family. If you’re looking for an unforgettable activity that brings everyone together, this is it. Highly recommend for busy families needing a break or anyone wanting to experience something creative...
