I can not give enough compliments to Sugoi. I have ordered 3 times in less than a month’s time. I love the unique flavor combinations, how smooth and velvety the bon bons melt in your mouth while wowing the taste buds. The caramels!! Holy moly DELICIOUS!! The matcha almonds are just too amazing to put into words. The ube sesame malt balls, heaven! If I ever travel to Chicago the trip will be because of Sugoi to experience in person. Reading other reviews I can’t wait to try matcha soft serve. I almost forgot the nougat. It’s all out of bounds tasty. I will be a customer for life. I can’t wait to try the actual matcha tea and everything Sugoi has to offer. Thank you so much for the passion!! It comes through in all your creations. Also LOVE the bon bon box art!! You all are ridiculously talented and I’m definitely reaping the benefits!!

Love, love, LOVE Sugoi Sweets. Every bonbon I’ve tried has been unique, delicious, and creatively made. Their matcha soft serve is amazing and I love that it’s made with oat milk. Their caramels are soft and tasty. The matcha quinoa chocolates are my favorite. The hojicha powder is great to make lattes at home. Whenever I’m in the mood for a specialty sweet treat, Sugoi Sweets pops into mind first. It’s a great spot to grab a gift for friends and family as well. Service is always top notch. I wish they were open during the week, but I understand that crafting all their delicious treats take a lot of time and effort, so I’ll look forward to the weekends instead šŸ™‚ Yes, can get a little expensive depending on what you purchase. But I believe it’s priced fairly when you consider the unique sweets you are getting.

This place is truly amazing. Each little chocolate is not only a work of art with the sheen and decoration, but a flavor sensation too. They call them bonbons and are similar to truffles but some are even gooey and have lots of layers inside. They also have interesting canned drinks from Japan and some other special chocolate bar flavors like duck sh*t (tea flavored) and salt egg cereal which I will definitely be back to try!! It’s not super cheap (3.50 a pop) so choose your options wisely although chic bars and the caramels (1.75 a stick) are really great too. The caramel was melt in your mouth. For Bonbons I recommend the Chicago Corn, the PBnJ and the Rice Puff (I forgot the real name but it’s a Japanese puffed rice grain with a nice crunch). Really worth a trip. A special place.

Sugoi Sweets is the best?! How can I possibly capture a portion of the experience in words?

The bonbons are such amazingly perfect works of art that it almost (--/almost/--) makes you not want to eat them. It's great though because their being so gorgeous almost demands that you pay each one the respect it was lovingly designed to deserve by eating only one at a time, slowly savoring each one at room temperature by biting into a third of one, making sure the flavor gets everywhere in your mouth, and then aerating slightly before eating the rest by pressing it against the roof of your mouth and letting the flavors melt (maybe that's just how I eat them :p ).

All that is to say nothing of the incredible soft serve ice cream that my partner and I try to get as often as there is a new flavor or as we are in the area. Ordering a soft serve (in a cone, for me) is an absolute delight because when you see Elle making them, her delicate care for the presentation and procedure and her love of her products can strike you all at once and remind you that the entire experience is cohesively driven by this very person.

Sugoi sweets is an obvious labor of Elle's heart and it shows in essentially...

I have ordered from Sugoi Sweets several times (for myself and for others as gifts) and I am never disappointed with what comes. The bonbons are their best items and for a very good reason! The designs for each one are gorgeous and every unique flavor tastes fantastic (Matcha, Milk Tea, and Mango Passion Caramel are my personal favorites). All of the other treats I’ve had are also a home run: the nougat, caramels, chocolate bars, and more are also worth their weight in gold with how delicious and decadent they are. I also appreciate all of the support I receive when shopping in their Chicago store-front. Staff is always kind and explains each item so I know what treat to try next. And I love the addition of other goodies made by other creators I can try! If they sell it in the shop, I know it’s going to be great. I am so happy to have found this gem of a business and will continue to...
