Denny's — Restaurant in West Covina

Amazing service from every employee!! We came in on a busy Sunday with 7 people. Five adults, (one being my 92 year old grandmother on her birthday) a teenager and one child. There was a party of 15 people ahead of us and we were still sat in less than 15 minutes! Wow! And the place was packed! It's not like it wasn't busy and they got us in. No, they cleaned tables, made creative table arrangements and got us all sat comfortably!! Bravo 👏 👏 And the fantastic service didn't stop there! 💕 Our server greated us immediately. Quickly brought us hot coffee and waters. Gave us exactly enough time to decide what we'd like before taking our orders without making us wait. Our food came quickly and was hot and delicious with all the condiments we needed including "dream sauce" 😉 aka maple syrup. When we were finished our plates were cleared and the waitress helped us out by not letting our 92 year old grandmother pay on her birthday and giving the check to one of us instead. FINALLY! Our stubborn grandmother let us pay because the waitress listened to us!! ❤️ She even brought a birthday Sunday with strawberry ice-cream, whipped cream, a candle and a cherry on top! I've been in food service since I was 16 years old. I've worked fast food to serving fine dinning dinners on the Las Vegas Strip. I worked my way up through the positions from car hop to GM of a high volume, breakfast restaurant in Las Vegas which I served at prior to becoming GM. The food, service and experience we received at this Denny's was perfect and I know that doesn't come easily!! Thank you for the wonderful experience for my family!! We were there around 11am on Sunday, January 29th. I wish I had remembered some of the staff's names to mention, but really it was the entire staff from FOH to BOH and management that make experiences like that happen. before dining in I needed change for a 100$ bill and was denied an told they had no change whatsoever, to which I figured I'd be declined since at the time I wasn't a paying customer ... Rude .. but whatever I needed the change for the 100$ bill all to help a nearby homeless I helped with what I could with some spare change no biggie n waited for the rest of my party outside went in to dine in ate n u see I get that some young adults(young folks) don't tip or what have u but doesn't mean u don't check in on them or pay them no mind or less a mind due to u thinking they might not tip u just cuz I'm young or my party may seem a lil obnoxious doesn't mean u should ignore or not service or not check in on your customer. I am a tipper I don't forget to tip my waiter and regardless of the service, I tip according to the service, for example 5star service 20$ tip 1star service 1$ tip . If u want the tip it should be earned n regardless of the age group one falls into category with, no customer should be overlooked .. but not once did I even get offered a refill or asked if I needed anything or nothing.. not much of a service...rude... So then when it came to getting the check I then went to pay and gave my 100$ bill as to which they then certainly changed out my bill since then I was a paying customer... But yet they had change all along smh that was dead on the disappointing thing about my service honestly . I would've understood if they really didn't have change whatsoever but I was overlooked cuz I didn't look like I was paying customer at the time and overlooked as if I wasn't gonna tip the waiter, smh Sorry but not sorry for having to write such review cuz little did u know I was a paying customer from the start. I shouldve gave no tip but that just isnt in my character to do such thing an overlook service regardless . Sincerely my 1$...

This Denny's is my go-to spot because it's close to home, and it always delivers a great experience! One of the things I love most is how they serve their milkshakes—they include the extra in the tin can, which is such a nice touch.

On this visit, we ordered the T-Bone Steak and Eggs with pancakes instead of toast. The food arrived at the perfect time—not too early or too late—and everything was warm and delicious. I also added a side of 9-grain pancakes for just $2 extra, and they were absolutely fire! Pairing those pancakes with a strawberry milkshake was the perfect combination.

The atmosphere was more relaxed this time since it wasn’t crowded, which made the experience even better. The service was prompt, and overall, the management is good.

I would give this Denny's 5 stars, but I’m taking one star away due to their holiday policy. On holidays like Christmas or New Year’s Day, they don’t honor coupons, and I believe that out of all days, these should be the times they do. During the holidays, people may be struggling financially or feeling lonely, and honoring coupons on these days would be a kind gesture from Denny’s. It would show that they care about their customers, especially those who might not have family or resources during these times.

Overall, I’m always happy with this Denny’s, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. Great food, great service, and those 9-grain pancakes and strawberry milkshakes are a winner! If they reconsider their holiday coupon policy, this place would...
