Came with my family (2 adults and 2 kids) because we saw the sign for Kids Eat Free. We were seated quickly by the hostess/waitress Celia who greeted us with a smile. Looking around as we made our way to our table, I noticed that there's not that many customers, specially for a Saturday night. My husband and I ordered our food after asking Celia about the details of the Kids Eat Free, which requires a beverage purchase with the adult meal. So we ordered adult sized beverages, as required. As we came close to finishing our meal, we figured we needed boxes. Celia was no where to be seen. We didn't see any other servers in the restaurant, aside from a white-haired elderly man. As I got up to approach Celia, the white-haired elderly man gruffly intercepted me and asked what I wanted. I kindly informed him that we need 2 boxes. He went towards the food area and gave us the boxes without saying a word, not even after we thanked him. We got our check from Celia. We pointed out that the total of our check isn't correct, as it includes the 2 kids meals which should have been free. She said that the discount would be applied at the register. She directed us to the front so that the manager could ring us up. To my surprise, the white haired elderly man was the one who was behind the register thus, the manager. He proceeded to ring up the incorrectly total and asked me to sign the total. I politely pointed out to him that the total still includes the kids meals. As he was looking at the receipt, I pointed him to one of the kids meal as being JR chicken nuggets. He rudely tells me that the meal isn't a kids meal. I replied that it's from the kids menu, which the other kids meal was also ordered from. I was about to grab a kids menu, when he proceeded to re-ring up the check. It's finally correct. Bottom line: if you're a manager, in which you have to deal with the public, have some customer service skills. Perhaps pick some up from the friendly smile and greeting skills of your subordinates. It's no wonder this place was sadly empty for a Saturday night. Now that we know better, we will avoid this place and recommend others to do the same. Tip: Go up the street more and hit up Norms. You'll have a better luck of getting better food and better...
Read moreI ordered food directly from the website which charges you for an option to have your food delivered. I was staying at a nearby Hotel and selected delivery. I called to confirm they could barely speak English. Maria was her name and could not communicate very well nor had access to a manager to do so. She stated that I would have to come and pick it up because they don't have anyone to deliver yet I was charged. I called back after she asked me to do so once she would try to reach a manager and to no avail still no delivery option. She then says the system says wait 60 minutes and someone will come and pick up the food and bring it to me. I go online to cancel the transaction and cannot. I then have no choice but to drive to the location and address the issue for refund that she did not want to give because I could not A. Have my food delivered so I needed the delivery charge refunded and B. The food she insisted I take was cold and old at this point. She also did not follow the direction that I did not want ice in the drink and that it be on the side and the drinks were watered down. I was unhappy and wished to have my total bill refunded and was she refused and said she cannot. I'm currently disputing those charges with my credit card company as a result. In the future it would be very nice to hire employees that are well-versed and not only their native language but the English language for the country that they work in. She could not translate Spanish words to English sufficiently. She spoke mostly Spanglish and it was very frustrating. Also they need to have management available in an establishment that operates on a 24-hour basis. Conflict and financial resolution is necessary Around the Clock when operating any business and they simply did not have any options available. I will never visit this...
Read moreMy rating is not for food or cleanliness of DENNYS restaurant nor my server. My 2 star rating is for the Chubby cashier that walked us to the table SHE CHOSE and for the older cashier gentleman who we paid on our way out! We asked her if we could sit at a particular table and she told us very FIRMLY AND RUDE NO....SIT HERE! We again told her we preferred sitting at one of the many booths available. She was walking in front of us and she turned around gave us this intimidating look and again said NO SIT right here and your waiter will come shortly and walked away.
My friend and I sat down had our breakfast and Did not let it bother us for the most part. When we were leaving we asked to see if we could get a discount for my meal since it was my bday and he said NO because we needed to let our server know before we ordered I told them we did not know we had to do that. We thought we had to ask when paying for our check. He said no and he was sorry he could not help us.
I'm not upset or anything like that but when DENNYS decide to make those kind of decisions and not making a paying customer happy for such a small price $9.99 the amour of my breakfast. DENNYS looks bad because they are such a Huge INC. they actually look bad. The cashier said " later on go have lunch at another DENNYS and tell them is your bday before You Order and they will give you the discount you are asking"
Lol.....I smiled at him but I will not becoming to...
