Taqueria La Fogata — Restaurant in West Covina

Really really good, tried the birria as it's been a few months since I've last had any and... Well suffice to say I wasn't impressed at first. I'm used to eating it as much as possible from some amazing places and honestly the first bite left a lot to be desired, but that was because of the amount of lemon given to me. I was given one key lime slice. I had to ask for extra and it finally took 4 additional slices to get it tasting right. Any nachos that are not made with fresh cut chicken breast are a deal-breaker for me. I know: picky. So this chicken, not unlike a lot of taquerias, seems like it was cooked last night and included dark meat. The cheese was not well distributed so there were a lot of dry chips. I like this place. It's a smaller diner like Norms or Denny's but with a Mexican flair. Where this place wins is better tasting food, friendlier service, all at more affordable prices. Win, win, win.
