I will never patronize this location again. (5919 Ashworth Rd, West Des Moines, IA 50266)This by far was one of the worst experiences of my life. I called & I only ordered a personal mini pizza, as I had done times b4 5:56 p.m.This time when I went I showed up & parked in one of the designated spaces as previously as requested per the make manager & the pizza that was to take 20 minutes I never received. 25 minutes & now 40 minutes. The young lady bringing out pizzas kept going to other guest & ignored me. I called back after I left, 6:40pm. The same young lady that ignored me answered the phone & I asked her why I wasn't approach as the other guest were & she said I needed to speak to her manager. Pointless, he had the audacity to ask did I flag the lady down or call, I let him know I waited as the other guest did & I watched her approach them without being flagged down or calling. I had just dropped my Father off @ the Mercy West to be admitted unexpectedly, rough day, I just wanted a pizza to eat as I watched Bible study. However that didn't happen. I called the regional manager whom was very pleasant, & apologized. I also went to the Drake location Godfather & recieved the gr8 service I'm used to getting. I paid for my pizza as I always expect not a hand out. To you the manager & server @ the 5919 Ashworth Rd, West Des Moines, IA 50266 location..An apology goes a long way, however I guess it wasn't in your nature because you proved it that night. Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe pizza is great but the place is very busy and they desperately need more help. I would have given a 5 if they were able to keep up with all the take out orders and online orders. It was 6pm when I arrived and there was a steady stream and a consistent line of 12 people waiting for their phone or online orders. My order was confirmed as being placed at 5:30. I got there at 5:45, I was told it's just be a few minutes. I didn't get my order until 7 pm because they didn't even put in the order until 6:45ish. One person who waited in line for his pizza came back when he discovered he received the wrong order. Someone from Winterset had ordered and had waited over 40 minutes in the store said he won't be back. when customers came in to order, they continued to take orders, take their money and THEN tell them they can't give an estimate of how long it will take for the pizza to be ready. Be upfront tell them undetermined wait time BEFORE you take their money. I asked for some type of discount or compensation for the wait, and I was given the coupons that are normally sent out as mailers. These responses are indications that customers are not cared for. When customers are waiting that long, offering a small soda, a water, anything would go a long way to make it appear the company cares and is making an effort to make it right. A small story.
I am vegetarian and was talking to the lady taking my order about my dietary preferences. I placed my order and was waiting for it to be ready.
A lady, working inside, came out and asked me saying that she had overheard me saying that I was a vegetarian and she wanted to check if she should get a new chopping board and knife to slice my pizza, because the one she was using had been used to slice meat pizzas. I was touched that she cared so much. This level of customer sensitivity is very rare.
I am loyal customer now. For ever.
I did tell her that I really did not care, but she anyways wiped down the board and the knife before slicing my pizza.
