My wife and I have been trying for years to find the actual best place for tacos. Not a taco place that has great margaritas, not a Mexican place that has really standard burritos smothered in cheddar, like a TACO place.

Toro is THE place. Keep in mind these are not the uber-traditional street tacos where you get your protein and some chopped cilantro / onions on a pair of tiny corn tortillas. I have a place for those, it’s not Toro.

Toro tacos are absolutely bursting with flavor and excitement. That sounds ridiculous to say but every time I pick one up I get a little giddy. Some of the selections are better than others (get a pork al pastor taco, for SURE) but generally the toppings, the sauces, they’re all on point and creative.

Al Pastor is the GOAT. Best one I've found in the state so far.

Pescado taco is hit or miss - it can be the best one we've tried or (the last time or two) a little fishy due to the skin still being on the fish.

Vampiro taco is dope but if you aren't supposed to have cheese you might want to stay away (I regret nothing).

The birria is good but not quite the expected "here's some tacos with jus to dip into" situation. Delicious, however.

Their salsa is pretty good, too, and we are picky. The chips are coated in Tajin, which gets mad respect from me. My wife has gotten a few of the appetizers and they all delivered every time. The one time I bothered with a burrito I was disappointed - but I can't eat dairy and I'm assuming cheese would have pulled the whole thing together nicely. I don't know, just get the damn tacos.

My only gripe is that it’s in West Hartford, which is nowhere near us. PLEASE consider opening a location in Middletown, PLEASE! You will get a portion of my paycheck...

I was so disappointed the last few times I’ve ordered from here, I used to love coming and would frequent so often the service was always good they’ve always made the food a little different each time but I excused it knowing that different chefs probably make it different ways but more than once very recently they have strayed from the entire menu, for example I loved getting the chicken tinga bowl and they had overloaded it with black beans it doesn’t even say it comes with black beans on the menu so I told them no beans and they replied with saying it doesn’t come with beans ok fine the very last time I got the chicken tinga bowl I didn’t say no beans because they clarified that it didn’t come with beans and when I received my meal it was basically all black beans and very little chicken. I gave them another chance and decided to order the kids meal chicken taco with French fried and was served French fried and chips and a salsa when the menu states salsa & chips OR fries & a churro. I didn’t realize at the time. Today I went in to get the kids meal again with fries & churro like the menu states and was only bought out the taco and fries so I asked for the churro and was told that decision is up to the chef if I get the churro because I might not if they know it’s not for kid? Which baffled me because if that was the case I should have been made aware of that when I ordered and before paying for something I may or may not get. There’s an immense lack of consistency and overall I probably won’t be back...

Horrible. This place used to be good but not anymore. I ordered the Cesar taco salad with chicken and shrimp which i usual get . They were out of everything that goes in it but did not inform me of such. I got some lettuce, cold taco chips, the meat and a whole lot of black beans. No corn, none of the other stuff that usually comes in it. There was no one to complain to because there is never a server and the cook said he can't do anything about it because the owner did not restock and he is not even supposed to be talking to me. Yet I was not informed of missing items after ordering and prior to them making it. I also ordered the nacho fries, that came with some melted cheese and whole lot of onions on top. That's it. In addition, the menu board does not match the kiosk you order from. I will not be going back here again. I just wasted $70. To think I even tipped them.

Honestly, I think they get friends to write good reviews for them because someone else I know had just as horrible experience and of course the cook 'does not' speak English. So no one to...

I would like contact information for the manager. I didn't get a receipt. From the menu math, I was overcharged $5. $50 for two margs made with well tequila if any, a taco and burrito. Serving margaritas out of a 20L tub with a ladle off the floor. Disgusting. Neglected half the food order. Broken fridge that stayed open 15 out of the 40 minutes wasted here. Clearly agism going on here. Don't go if you're over 30. Won't get greeted or served without being a bother to the staff sitting on the freezer on their phone or the one scooping drinks off the floor. Near Immediate stomach sickness.
