The Slice Mob hit Zephyr’s Street Pizza… and left absolutely sauced (in the best way).

Tucked behind a busy street, Zephyr’s is the kind of spot you don’t just find — you uncover. Plenty of parking, outdoor seating, and a vibe that screams: underground music venue meets gourmet pizza lab.

Inside? Tin ceilings, local art, and an open kitchen firing off pies like it’s rock ‘n roll night. It’s cool without trying, hip without the ego, and absolutely stacked with pizza that slaps.

I went classic and spicy — because balance.

First up: The Kurt. 16 inches of crispy, pillowy, garlic-laced, parm-showered perfection. That dough? Flavorful and airy. The sauce? Sweet, acidic, and seasoned like it came from Nonna’s secret playbook. Basil. Olive oil. Harmonious AF.

Then came The Zesty ’Nduja. Same dreamy dough, this time slathered in spicy, spreadable salami. Add goat cheese (for the tang) and mozz (for the smooth talk), pepperoncini for the bite, and honey sriracha for the sweet heat. Flavor. Bomb.

The rest of the Mob devoured pies like Street Corn, Truffle Honey, and Four Queso — and all I heard was “Mmm,” “Yo,” and “Holy…” (you get the idea).

Bonus: Dante — owner, pizza wizard, and all-around good guy — came out for a quick chat and a photo. Total class act.

Bottom line? Go to Zephyr’s. Come for the vibe. Stay for the crust. Leave with a new favorite pizza. Slice...

I have been looking for a good vegan pizza here in Connecticut. I have tried a couple of places but last night I found the Jewel that fits the Crown for Connecticut. We usually drive like a hour to Massachusetts just to grab our favorite vegan pizza and sometimes that's just way to far but now we have a place way closer!! Their pizza is fresh and hot and taste so damn good. I called them at 8:30 and asked if they could make a pizza even though they closed at 9 p.m. and they did as long as I could be there by 9. Which I was. I sat and watched the workers which the guys making the pizza really cared about the pizza. The way they tended to the pizza like a farmer to their crops. Everyone worked together to make sure the needs of the customers were met and the orders were coming out. The girl taking orders was kind too and did a great job at repeating back our order. When we got home and I opened the pie box my surprise to see oyster mushrooms!!!! Only the best!!! The sauce was yummy and we couldn't stop eatting it. I ordered 3 large pies because I didn't know how big it was going to be but they were good size pies. Now when I want pizza, real good pizza and I don't want to drive so far I can come here!! Which I will. So grateful for this place!!! Come here for great pizza!!! Great...

This is the second time I have experienced pizza from here. Both times, our Manager had bought it for special occasions at the store.

This particular pizza had what seemed like a whole rotisserie chicken on it. Perfectly cooked and shredded in large pieces. And then, as though they deliberately trying to make you stumble while devouring this thing, there were whole stalks of scallions placed strategically diagonally across the slice. And drizzled with this really great white sauce.

Let me tell you, this isn’t the kind of pizza you just slide down your gullet and forget about. No greasy mom and pop shop slice here.

No. It makes you stop. Take your time. Think about things. Like the life choices that have brought you to this moment. From birth, through school, those bad relationships, the sorrow, the laughter, the rando messaging you in your favorite social media app, finding $20 on the sidewalk and then losing it to a burger joint that gave you indigestion because you deserved it for eating that anyways.

Is there a god? And who cares? And if they ate this pizza, would they even care if they existed? Was that the slight taste of butter in the crust? Where’s my professional career going?

Savor the pizza. Savor the moment. Enlighten yourself. Or don’t. But...

Got a cheese pizza for comparison. Nice pizza overall, beautiful crust, very tasty sauce. Good cheese/sauce ratio, although I prefer a little more on the cheesy side. On Dave's one-bite app, I rated 7.5, but it would have been a crime not to rate the pizza 5 star on Google. On the flip side service definitely could have been better. Please remove the sign "please seat yourself" if we had to check in first! Me and my family with two kids had seated outside on the patio before a group of young gentlemen came and checked inside. The server made us vacate the table for the newcomers. When I showed her the "seat yourself" sign, she was unapologetic. It was kind of rude for her to make a family with kids leave like this.
