Soku Sushi & Noodle — Restaurant in West Linn

This place has good food. Unfortunately service is a mixed bag. There have been two separate occasions where we had bad service. I normally don’t leave bad reviews but both times the service was pretty awful. The first time, it took 20 minutes to get our order and another 30 to get our food. We were forgotten, our server never checked on us for drink refills or anything. We had to find our server to get the bill. After that, we avoided the place for several months despite the food being good. We returned and it was fine for a while. Unfortunately, we had a second poor experience more recently. This time, our server brought out incorrect items more than once. I can understand misinterpretation but three times is excessive. After the second time, our server got agitated and tried to tell us we ordered something we didn’t and we had to correct her. Even when bringing out drinks, we had to correct our server on what drinks we ordered. As far as food goes, it was good as always. This was a super disappointing experience. We were the only other group (3 people) besides a family of 6 that came in. The service was very slow, and we were only checked on twice. The waitress also wasn’t explaining that we had to go up front to pay. We asked to split the bill in half, and she just said I’ll change it and then left the table and didn’t come back. Our food was not good. My xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were congealed and cold, like they had been sitting. They also came out last, even though it was listed as an appetizer. My Thai iced tea was lukewarm, and tasted like old tea. My brother had the beef brisket noodle soup, and caterpillar roll. After 2 hours after eating, he became very ill. He was vomiting and very pale. I am not sure if it was the sushi or the soup that caused him to be sick. great food, great service, good vibes, great portions. got the crab rangoon which I've been having a hard time finding gooey rangoons. the scallop flight was good too. agedashi tofu was good to me, very light and not super rich but my husband didn't care for it much. Dan Dan noodles were great, very flavorful and loved the texture of the noodles. lots of noodles. house special fried rice was BUSSIN! can't wait to eat our left overs.

for sushi we got the sumo and plant box. both were very good. sumo roll was massive, add a small dash of soy sauce wasabi mix (yum yum) and the plant box was fantastic, especially with a small piece of ginger (no soy sauce) I liked it more than the sumo.
