12.04.2021: (Saturday) 7:20PM CT: We are seated after proceeding directly from the hostess check in. 7:40PM CT: We were finally able to order our drinks and we requested to go ahead and order our food. The waitress stated she didn’t even see us sitting at the table. I find this hard to believe since our table was right behind a table she delivered food; twice. I’m a larger guy so I’m kinda hard to miss seeing, sitting at a table. 7:48PM CT: We received our silverware and drinks (waters). 7:58PM CT: We received our meal. Still no sign of the rolls and biscuits. The hamburger steak tasted like eating a spoonful of salt with each bite. A little nit picky but our food was plated incorrectly so we had to swap items from one plate to the other. Not a big deal but worth mentioning. 8:06PM CT: We finished our meals. The turnips were exceptional. Mashed potatoes were a little clumpy. Okra was as good as always. 8:08PM CT: We received the biscuits and corn bread and ordered dessert. I requested the check so I could get out sooner and not have to wait. 8:17PM CT: The fruit cobbler arrived, requested the check again. 8:20PM CT: The check arrived. 8:22PM CT: Finished the fruit cobbler. It was not as good as normal. I would call it more of a fruit cobbler soup. 8:25PM CT: While the waitress was dropping off food on the table next to me, I requested for the biscuits beignets to be to-go. 8:35PM CT: Biscuit Beignets arrive in a to-go container and I proceed directly to the checkout. I would understand if the establishment was busy or even semi busy but it was not even at 20% occupancy. The restaurant seemed to be fully staffed in the front so I do not believe lack of staffing is the issue, on this occasion. I hate to be the guy to leave a negative review but I think this review is warranted. This is the second bad experience, in a row, for this particular location. If there’s another Cracker Barrel location on your route, I would advise skipping this one.

The food was good ..... But the service and the staff- where to begin? The service: what kind of server looks and stares at you, as if you are supposed to read her mind? How about a warm greeting like the rest of the cracker barrels do: "welcome to CB. Can I start u off with a drink?" And say it with some enthusiasm and cheer so that I'll feel good for sitting down in the restaurant. Clearly I didn't get that. Maybe she is having a bad day or she doesn't want to be there, idk. But the vibe was very Very odd and undeserving of a tip. And what was up with these black ladies (they were dressed like managers) staring and judging? Like you r in food service. Without my money, you won't have a job so stop judging me! Just because I don't have a hair piece on my head doesn't mean I deserve to be judged. I work very hard for my money and, my money is just as good as the retirees' money. So stop it with the judgmental stares! Dan Evins founded CB because he wanted to serve the needs of the everyday traveler. And one of those needs involve refills. The 2nd pic shows how much drink I had left when I ordered more food, waited for the food to arrive, then ate it. Not one time did the server return to my table and offered a refill since I sat down. After I got through eating, she returned to my table and handed me my receipt, without asking if I wanted to order anything to go. If Dan Evins were to see this transpire, I bet $1k that he would probably clean house, bring in people who have a passion for customer service and let go of those who are only there for a check. With the latest headline "businesses are leaving the Memphis area due to crime," they should b grateful that they even have a job! Because if I were Dan Evins himself, I would be very careful of whom I hire, especially in this area. Now the lady with the bright yellow shirt on, she actually sounds enthusiastic when she greets people. Ugh I wish I had her for a server. How sad.

When I got the soup to go, it was the worst I had ever had from Cracker Barrel! They said they didn't have any soup so they had to make some. The potatoes in the soup were half done, there was no flavor to it, the beans were soggy and to top it all off, I had purchased eight sticks of hard peppermint candy only to find out 24 hours later that the young boy that rang me up as a cashier (who look like he was maybe all of 13 years old) didn't put my candy in my bag. Now I live close to an hour from that store I just happen to be driving back in town when I stopped by there yesterday, but when I called the incompetent manager woman 3/19/2024, she told me that I had to drive all the way back over there close to an hour to get my candy even though there was a Cracker Barrel location that was much much closer to where my home is. Her backwards (apparently don't get paid to think and use her brain reasoning) position she told me was that wasn't her problem essentially in that sense that they have an inventory they have to keep up with therefore I had to drive back over there to correct their problem as she wasn't going to help lessen my stress by making a call to the other Cracker Barrel store nearest to my home she didn't care and didn't want to be bothered. My opinion, this is about the most asinine, backwards, lazy uneducated management advice I have ever heard somebody give a customer! How did she even get a job there let alone a management role ? the candy only cost $2.80 and she didn't want to assist me at all even though it was their fault.. so I do not ever ever recommend ever stopping and wasting your time at that store I was surprised why there weren't that many customers there and there weren't that many cars parked in the parking lot go at your own risk. So the corn muffins were so hard old and stale they had added a lot of sugar to the corn muffins and they were just nasty when I got home

Cracker Barrel Review - West Memphis - 2/10/22

My party of two were escorted to our table by the restaurant greeter at about 3:35 PM. The table was dirty and we had to wait for the greeter to clean it. I observed four other tables in the dining area that still had used dishes, glasses, etc that had not been removed and tables cleaned. The dining room floor had more than 3 areas in the where several food items, wrappers, etc had not been removed. The dining room floor had not been swept in a long time. There were 3 other guest parties already seated in the dining room at the time we were seated. Our server, Jose R, arrived within a few minutes of us being seated. He was well mannered, professional, and communicative in taking our order. When our server brought our meal to us, I asked for one additional napkin. I ordered the Fried Shrimp dinner. I was given a cup of what looked and tasted like BBQ or Heinz 57 sauce for the shrimp instead of the normal traditional shrimp cocktail sauce and white tarter sauce I am accustomed to receiving when I order the Fried Shrimp dinner at Cracker Barrel Restaurants around the country. In the 45 minutes we were at the restaurant.. the server NEVER came back to the table with my extra napkin or asked us about our meal or if we needed a drink refill which my dining partner strongly desired about 10 minutes after our food and drinks were delivered. I tried by waving my hand in the air on more that three occasions to get our server's attention but never received it or needed drink refills A couple at a near-by table that were seated just as we were being seated in the dining area NEVER received their order after patiently waiting for at least 45 minutes. The server (same as ours) finally after, about 40 minutes, came by to explain the delay.

The lack of service we received is UNACCEPTABLE. BBQ sauce is NOT a substitute for shrimp cocktail sauce. At 3:45 PM in the afternoon, the floors and tables in the dining area should have been clean.

I have dined at Cracker Barrels in several states over the past 30+ years. Until about 3 years ago, the service, cleanliness, and quality of food was impeccable. The POOR service I have received at the past 3 Cracker Barrels I have dined at (West Memphis and Bryant, Arkansas and Texarkana, Texas) has basically gone to HELL over the past 3 years. About 6 months ago, at the Bryant location, I was basically abandoned by my waiter and could not physically get her attention for a single drink refill. The company's restaurant auditing and inspection team are absent and NOT...

This was perhaps the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. When we walked in, there were very few people there. The host stood there for a minute while we waited, even though we were the only ones in line. She went to look for a table, even though there were many open tables, and took quite some time to get back.

When we sat down we waited for a good while for someone to come serve us, and she came and said she would be right back, which she wasn’t. We waited for a while longer and she came back and took our orders.

When our drinks came, my daughter spilled one of them on the table. When our server came she noticed acted like she didn’t know what to do. We asked her if she could grab a mop. She came back with one hand towel, which wasn’t close to enough. We waited a while longer and then she came back with several more towels.

Once the biscuits came out, we realized we didn’t have silverware, but not before our server left. We had to wait a while for her to come back, and after we asked for some, we waited a good while again for her to come back.

Our food took a considerable amount of time to come out. When it did, we noticed that the French toast that one in person in our party ordered didn’t have syrup. We again had to wait again for the server to come back and once again wait after we asked. The serving size of the chicken strips I ordered was very small. They looked like 6 chicken nuggets from Wendy’s. I’m not exaggerating. There were 8 fries and 3 pieces of broccoli. It was as if I had ordered a kids meal.

Everyone working seemed like they didn’t want to be there and almost confused as to what was going on.

If you like Cracker Barrel and want to change your mind, this one would be a good one to come to. You will have a different perspective after the visit. There’s a dark side to this chain, and you will find it at this location. Don’t be deceived by the gift shop with the multitudes of trinkets and houseware and sweet candy. This is more of a facade for what seems to be a normal Cracker Barrel.

If you are reading this review after having treaded treaded the waters of this forsaken ocean of despair and neglect, all I can say is, you were warned.

The service sucks, there is no sense of urgency and the Manager (middle age, Caucasian female) was very unconcerned. I stopped by only to get an order of corn bread muffins. I went it and asked the young man at the desk if I could place an order. He said he would call someone up to assist me. I waited about 10-15 minutes, no one came up. I asked him if it would be better if I was seated by the hostess to get my order placed. He said, no it would probably take longer. I waited a few more minutes and informed the hostess that I wanted an order of corn bread muffins. She went to the back and came back to me and let me know that someone would be with me shortly. I waited about 5 more minutes, no one showed up. Take in mind the whole time I was there I saw the manager I mentioned earlier walk back and forth a few times. At one point she was speaking briefly to an employee, but she heard my request, knew of my needs but didn't say anything to me. Finally a young lady came out and I told her all I wanted was an order of cornbread muffins. She walked off, but didn't say anything. I could see here leaning on the counter. It looked like she was review or typing something on a screen. A few more minutes went by and I saw a tall, African American man, possibly another manager come out of that area. He asked me if I had been helped. I told him my ordeal. He went to the back, about 5 minutes later, someone was bringing the order out and the Caucasian female manager, got it and walked it to the front and told the cashier that it was my order. Take in mind, she walked passed me and didn't say anything, like mam here's your order, come on up to the cashier to to pay for it, she didn't say anything. I got 6 cornbread muffins, it took forever to get them. Service sucks, no sense of urgency, no value in the customer in what they want or how long they wait. Luckily, my muffins were hot and delicious but I wont come back and I will tell others not to go to that location. It wasn't even packed. There was no line or wait...
