Wow! We just got into town and didn’t want to get dressed up, so we thought we would give Scott’s a try...WOW. Don’t judge a book by its cover, better yet, do. The parking lot was full, we actually got the last spot. There was a short line, so we had a chance to look over the menu. We placed our order. I fixed my drink and found a booth. We sat down and were immediately brought hush puppies and the plate for the salad bar. My wife fixed her salad came back to the table took a bite and our food arrived. Everything was great. There was not a bad thing. Nothing was greasy, Catfish was battered to perfection, shrimp was crisp and light tasting, also perfectly battered. Onion rings were handmade and not from a bag, again perfectly battered. Tartar sauce was sweet, but not too sweet. Cole slaw was the best I have had in years, sweet, but not overly sweet. We were full and still had a meal leftover between the two of us, but we had to try the banana pudding...once again very good, sweet, but not too sweet. The staff was very friendly and we let them know what we thought. We may end up going back tomorrow and just trying something different. If in town I would...
Read moreWhether you’re eating the best butterfly shrimp and crispy catfish combo, a mouthwateringly delicious chicken quesadilla, a hand pattied burgers on a sourdough bun, some authentic shrimp étouffée, or my favorite the grilled catfish and shrimp combo with Cajun rice with their signature garlic sauce; this local gem is one of the best places to eat when you’re in West Monroe. Scott’s straddles the line of fast casual offering dine in and a drive thru (they make each order as it’s placed so have some patience it’s worth it) I dined in and was absolutely beyond impressed with my waitress. Caitlin was her name, my tea never went below half empty and the complementary hush puppies basket was brought out fresh and hot. She must have brought my food out as soon as it left the grill as it was still steaming hot. She’s definitely a keeper as she was the best waitress I’ve ever had, I couldn’t help, but to leave her a hefty tip! Overall Scott’s is a local restaurant I’m so glad to have in the area, stop by you won’t be...
Read moreIt has been over a year since last here due to several back to back less than stellar visits. I wanted catfish and didn't have time to go to Monroe so I thought I'd try again. Ordered 1 whole catfish and a side of fries. Came out quick and I was on my way. Got home, it had cooled enough to eat. The fries were different than last time I ate there. Some were over cooked, some under cooked and some were a soft greasy mess. 2/10 for fries. The fish smelled so good and was crispy on the outside but oh my it was fishy! So fishy I couldn't eat it. I know farm raised catfish can be a crap shoot this time of year, but if other people can serve edible catfish, so can Scott's. We used to go there at least once a week sometimes more, but I can tell you it will a LOT longer than a year before I go back. The lady at the window was very nice and food came out quickly, but quality of food has gone down. Too expensive for a dinner that...
