My friend recommended trying Castle Rock 440. She said the reviews were very good and she wanted to support a local business. So me and 3 of my friends went on Friday to have dinner. I ordered a Shrimp Caesar salad, 2 of my friends order fish and chips and my last friend order a chicken sandwich. The food came out very quickly. I begin to eat my Shrimp Caesar salad starting with the lettuce. The salad had 4 shrimp. Then I proceed to eat my shrimp. I take a bite of the shrimp and spit it . I next try the another shrimp and I spit that shrimp out as well. The shrimp were spoiled. Unbeknownst to me the whole table could smell the shrimp. So I call the waiter over and tell her that the shrimp was bad. She takes the salad away and then another waiter comes over to ask me if I want something else. I tell him no I’m ok. Then I guess it’s the owner or manager comes over to me and says those shrimp weren’t bad and would I like something else. I tell him no I don’t want anything else. For him to be confrontational was totally uncalled for. The whole table could smell the fishiness of the shrimp and everyone looked at me and said I was right. Manager or Owner, I have been cooking for 30 years and I know how fresh seafood tastes and it doesn't taste like what you served me yesterday. For the whole table to smell the fishiness of the shrimp and for you to say the shrimp aren’t bad shows that you have an ego issue. If a customer makes a complaint to me and it’s justified, I always try to make amends. There is no reason to be confrontational. We are all humans and we make mistakes. Also they have a very limited soda selection. Based on this experience I would not recommend going to this restaurant and I won’t...
Read moreCastle Rock in West Orange is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and lively. We had the pleasure of being served by Sanju, the bartender, who truly went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. His attention to detail, friendly demeanor, set the tone for a fantastic evening.
The food? Absolutely phenomenal! The wings were perfectly crispy, flavorful, and hands-down some of the best we’ve ever had. Pair that with their fresh and delicious salmon Caesar salad, and you’ve got a winning combination. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and it’s clear the kitchen takes pride in the quality of their ingredients.
If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Castle Rock. Whether you’re there for a casual night out or just drinks and apps at the bar, you won’t be disappointed. And make sure to say hi to Sanju—he’s a rockstar!

Read moreAmazing place with awesome food choices and ambience. We were visiting NJ and I have lived in Hong Kong, Singapore and in other cities in the US. I can truly say this place is a gem and is a must visit. We had a sit down dinner. They have ample seating for sit down dinner, but they also have a spacious bar area with lots of bar seating if you want to watch games. We ordered Cauliflower fritters, hot wings, beef briskets, chipotle chicken wrap and Cajun chicken and Shrimp pasta. The beef was just perfectly done and the bread was fresh and crispy. Chicken wrap had crispy chicken and it was delicious. The Cajun shrimp pasta was delicious too. The drink selection was also extremely good, many choices of cocktail for all taste buds. To top it all off we ordered the Sticky dates pudding which is to die for. The owner himself is a chef and you can tell that from the food...
