Don Vega’s Place - Sam's Place — Restaurant in West Orange

Ordered dinner for 5:15pm on the Slice app for pickup in the morning. Received email confirmation that my order was in. Received email progress on my order. I went there a little before the pickup time and went into the parking lot to the side of the restaurant and into the back. I received a text message saying that my order was ready. Since there is no dining in option, there was plenty of parking. I went inside and my order was waiting for me. Everything was packaged nicely. I ordered the fried chicken, chicken wings and fried calamari. My family enjoyed the food but believed that Korean fried chicken was still the best fried chicken they ever had. I liked the fried chicken mainly because the fried batter was not heavy like those chain places. I normally don’t leave reviews for places. If I have a bad experience, it is what it is. In this case, they advertise a chicken sandwich in which I specifically asked if it was a chicken cutlet. I was told yes and that all their sandwiches come on a hero, and now I know why… as you can see in the picture, they put nearly NO MEAT on the sandwich and what I received was not a chicken cutlet at all (again, look at the picture). Best fried chicken around. We ordered the 6 piece meal and the pieces are huge. Friendly staff as well. Also tried the fries, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw as sides and can't complain about any of them. The one drawback was the jumbo shrimp was a bit on the salty side. Parking in the back. Pricing is great especially these days. All the food is made to order so be prepared to wait 20-30 minutes if you order there but it's def worth it. They have a high chair as well for those...
