We've been frequent visitors at howleys for about a year now, but I think last night was our final time, as both me & my partner have food poisoning. Let me start off by saying we have been here many times before & have been fine; we'd go almost every week and we'd have Nick as our server, he is absolutely phenomenal and has always made us feel welcomed, been attentive & on top of his game w the service. About 3 weeks ago we came at 10pm with a group of about 10 of us to celebrate a friend's anniversary (his family also flew into town for the occasion) and we were looking for a late night spot to accommodate us. As soon as we came in & stated we'd be a large party, the woman at the front instantly expressed her displeasure to accommodate us, she actually told us "next time you have a big party like this, you should really call before just showing up" we were confused, because it was not busy at all, and this is not a call-ahead/reservation restaurant. I even apologized and asked what time they closed, they didn't close for another 2 hours! Our server was a lot friendlier than her, and things went fine w the meals, so despite us feeling rather unwelcome, we decided to go back last night. Well, last night the service was not the same. Our server Brittany, very nice girl, but couldn't be bothered to check up on us once. She took our drink order, came back about 5 mins later & took our food order, and that was the last we saw of her. Someone else ran out our food, I asked for ketchup and nobody came out. We had no refills on the drinks, and couldn't even find Brittany to give us the bill, we had to have another server bring us our bill. And after sitting with the bill unpaid for almost 10 minutes, finally I got up to hand it to Brittany myself. The food gave both my partner & I food poisoning, I have been on the toilet since last night following into today, and same with him. He got a chicken noodle soup last night & it was a mushy mess, hardly any broth because it seems the noodles are kept in the soup, so they were overcooked and mushy. It was just a bad experience all together, which will cause us to not return. We are saddened by this because we used to love howleys, but recently the service & now the food poisoning has turned us...

I’m not a tough critic but this place had to many mistakes for me not be unsatisfied. Look at my past reviews for other places and you will see it doesn’t take much to make me happy.

So much potential for this place but they failed to execute on my visit. The place has a beautiful atmosphere and very tasteful art decorations. The location was easily visible off of Dixie Highway.

Here are the things that went wrong on my visit: I ordered a Ruben sandwich with side of fruit. As you can see from my picture, 80% of the corn beef was on 1/2 of the sandwich (which that half taste amazing) and on the other half was 80% of dressing (this surprised me when I bit into the sandwich and noticed there was no meat.) The fruit was dated and sour. I ended up sending it back for sweet potato fries. They tried to charge $2 dollars for the bad fruit. My girlfriend ordered a apple and goat cheese salad with chicken. If you look at the picture. They forgot the goat cheese. Which we had wait almost 15 minutes for them to go to back and bring some out. Surprisingly if you add chicken the cost of the salad goes from 12.95 to 18.95. So for a almost $20 salad you expect it to come out correct. We only received one refill at the end of the meal as the waiter brought over the bill. When our drinks were already low before receiving the food. The waiter was real nice in the beginning but became more and more frustrated as we kept having requests to fix the mistakes the kitchen was making. I understand he was busy and it wasn’t his fault for the mistakes.

For the cost of the food at this restaurant. I won’t take another chance to go there to see if they...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Howley’s, and I must say, the experience was exceptional, largely thanks to our server, Brittany. From the moment we walked in, Brittany’s welcoming smile and warm demeanor set the tone for a wonderful evening.

Brittany’s knowledge of the menu was impressive. She provided insightful recommendations and was able to answer all our questions about the dishes with ease and confidence. Her suggestions were spot on, guiding us to some of the best items on the menu.

Throughout the meal, Brittany was attentive without being intrusive. She anticipated our needs perfectly, refilling drinks promptly and checking in just the right amount. Her timing was impeccable, ensuring our courses arrived at a comfortable pace and our dining experience felt seamless.

What truly stood out was Brittany’s genuine passion for her job. It was evident in the way she interacted with us and other guests, making everyone feel special and well-cared for. Her positive energy and enthusiasm were contagious, adding a delightful touch to the evening.

The food at Howley’s was delicious, but Brittany’s excellent service made the experience unforgettable. It’s rare to find a server who excels in every aspect of their role, but Brittany managed to do just that. She is a true asset to the Howley’s team and made our visit truly memorable.

I highly recommend dining at Howley’s and, if you’re lucky enough to have Brittany as your server, you’re in for an amazing experience. We will definitely be returning soon, and we hope to see Brittany again. Thank you, Brittany, for making our...

My family has been coming to Howley’s for over 10 years, unfortunately it is not what it used to be. Today, we came as a party of 5 and were seated at a half booth half regular chair table. The booth cushions were so old you sunk right into them. The other areas of the restaurant were too loud and my grandparents are hard of hearing so we dealt with it. We got fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were bland. Even the bbq remoulade didn’t add that much flavor. They were fried well though. For my main, I got the BLT plus avocado (for an extra $3). The picture shows how terrible of a sandwich this was. There was one tiny slice of avocado, and barely any tomato. They marketed this as being on texas toast, it was really just thick cut white bread that was completely dry. They couldve buttered the bread and grilled it. I’m not trying to be dramatic but easily the worst sandwich I’ve had. I took one bite and put it to the side. The one great thing Howley’s does is their onion rings, always crispy and perfect. My grandfather also loves the coconut cake. I’m disappointed that Howley’s will no longer be a stop when I visit Florida, but this experience left a lot to be desired.

No trip to West Palm Beach is complete without a visit to Howley’s. This quaint and quirky diner serves classic favorites since 1950 and their motto is “Cooked in sight…must be right!” With a smattering of local artwork on the walls and traditional diner seating inside, we opted for their outdoor area. No wait on a Wednesday evening, so our Server Marky started us off once we sat with an order of fried green tomatoes with remoulade. After perusing the long menu and trying to decide what to get we settled on a French Dip with sweet potato fries for her, and the TV Dinner special for me. Tonight’s selection was chicken cordon bleu with mashed potatoes, green peas, and a brownie served on a metal tray, a relic of a bygone era perfectly preserved at Howley’s. Everything is cooked to order here, and since good things come to those who wait, but depending on what you ordered, be prepared with some conversation starters to pass the time. Don’t worry, it’s not forever and it totally worth it! Food came out piping hot and in generous portions. This eclectic eatery has just about everything in the menu to please all comers. After all, 72 years doesn’t just happen overnight. Enjoy!
