I went with Mellie’s ‘special recipe collard greens’ and a double smash burger with cheese. As someone originally from Louisiana, whoever cooks the food— has to bring the flavor and heat that brings out the flavor. There’s a delicate balance on the pallet: flavor & heat have to work together. The food took me for a walk on the wild side and was easy to put down. The burger is something I haven’t tasted since I was in college on The Bayou. The collard greens were ‘buttery’ with heat in the juice with just the right amount of spice with some unique additions: carrots, celery and who knows: but most importantly it was good. I got the Side Chick Combo which was sooo yummy. The fried chicken is crispy, juicy, and made from real pull-apart chicken, nothing like regular nuggets!
