Super excited to see a new bakery spring up. Here are some fun facts i learned from the first visit by speaking with the owner, Joel! This is a privately owned business with multiple locations thru out South florida. They are predominantly in Miami and have expanded to this location. As of today, September 1, 2024, they have actually not even done their grand opening, which is why if you have experienced longer than usual wait times, is the reason why. They are still in training. They are so grateful by the immense support from West Palm Beach but were taken a back by the amount of people that have shown up thus far. Speaking with Joel he stated they have intentions on opening the drive thru for 24 hour service within the next few months. --- Okay! Now for the food. The location has seating available inside with two seater tables and some wall booth seating. pricing is reasonable with portion size being generous. The two types of empanadas tried were the shredded beef and regular beef. Both were seasoned perfectly and not lacking in flavor with an amazing golden crisp fry on the shell. The breakfast platter consisted of two fried eggs, your choice of ham or bacon (hubby chose ham), curly fries and cuban tostada with cuban cafe con leche. The fries were seasoned and the bread is fresh. And as expected the cafe con leche was on point. The coffee was not overtly bitter. The monte cristo was stacked high with turkey, ham, swiss cheese, and bacon between two pieces of french toast sprinkled with powdered sugar. A prior review stated that their sandwich was cold and I'd have to agree, Im not too sure if this is culturally the method for serving this, or if this is a training issue but either way the flavor profiles are there of a monte cristo and the portion allows me to have a take home plate where i can heat it to my liking. Now.. if youve made it this far and you are undecided on what to try, take this as your sign to order the Flan de Queso! (They have a Q written in black marker on the plastic top.) This dainty dessert is creamy with the perfect balance of sweet from the caramel base and tangy from the cream cheese in the flan. If you get nothing else - GET THIS! (Its been two days since Ive been at this establishment and ive already ordered about 5 of them for myself and my family.) My review stands at a 4 because of the cold sandwich and current wait times BUT most likely will be updated to a 5 once they have gone through the training and actual grand opening and have settled into thw flow of things. This was amazing and hopefully will...
Read moreI'm writing this just after I finished making the most of eating easily the worst Cuban sandwich I've ever had. I was bringing home take out for me and my 80 year old Cuban-born father.
Dropped in at 6:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. No other customers in the store but I came here on positive recommendations and I was optimistic.
Ordered a Little Havana bowl with Pork and the sandwich. I told the lady at the counter this is my first time here.
Took 30 minutes with an empty store to get both ready. While I was waiting I tried out a couple of ham croquetas that were just being brought out and they were fine and i tried a chorizo empanada that was barely warm and i tasted mostly the crust.
The service was cold and they acted like I wish I wasn't ever there. No update on the food while they had no other customers to tend to.
I stepped outside for a few minutes while I was waiting and then when I came back the lady that took my order was being friendly to a man and his two daughters she easily spend another 5 minutes talking with the kids and their father while I guess the food have finally been brought out after 30 minutes. After those people left when is when she finally showed me the bag with the food ready for me to pick up.
Brought the food home and the bowl had mostly pork grease and fat with just a bit of actual pork to go with plantains that did not look or taste pleasing with a small amount of rice and nothing else.
The real abomination was the Cuban sandwich dripping in so much mayonnaise the top bread was a soggy mess even after they toasted it on the plancha. When I tried to take some of the mayonnaise off a full diced tomato came out of it what about five slices of Swiss cheese on it that took away from most of the meat on the sandwich.
Easily the worst and messiest sandwich I've ever had. SERIOUSLY! How does a long heralded and respected Cuban restaurant and bakery screw up a staple menu item like a Cuban sandwich!
$45.00 and I gave a 15% tip. Easily one of the worst experiences at a restaurant I've ever had. Thanks Pinecrest Bakery for the worst first impression i could...
Read moreI would like to begin by expressing my genuine excitement about the opening of this bakery in our area. It boasts a spacious layout with ample seating, and aside from a few scattered pieces of paper, it appeared quite clean. The dessert displays are lovely and very inviting.
However, I must share that our initial experience didn't quite meet our expectations. Upon entering, we found the ordering process a bit confusing. Although we took a number, we noticed that some customers who didn't have one were served ahead of us. While this didn't particularly upset me, I did observe that this confusion led two customers to leave without placing their orders.
When we reached the register to place our order, our server seemed a bit unsure while we tried to order in English. Unfortunately, this led to an error in our chargesâ I was billed $5.68 for an item that should have cost only $2.49. I realized this after receiving my receipt, and I hesitated to address it given the earlier communication difficulties. Additionally, we found that the desserts were not labeled and lacked distinct markers, which made ordering a bit challenging. It required multiple trips back and forth to get the attention of our server.
We ordered the special beef empanada, which had a good flavor but was a bit soggy. The pan de bono special (I wanted the pan de bono - which is bread and cheese) - the pan de bono special (bread, cheese, fried egg and ham) was okay but smaller than I had anticipated. We also chose to purchase a whole flan instead of individual servings, as we were informed that those were priced at $4.50 each. The flan was enjoyable, albeit a bit heavier than what Iâm accustomed to.
Overall, the staff were quite polite and attentive when interacting with customers. However, the language barrier made it somewhat difficult to ensure my order was correct, which unfortunately meant I couldn't get everything I had hoped to try. I may consider visiting again but it wonât be anytime soon.
Thank you for considering...
