☕️ The Groves Coffee House – ⭐️ 1 Star – Because minus five stars and a time machine weren’t available. 😩🕳️
Walked into a “coffee house,” walked out questioning the very meaning of caffeine, life, and my last three decisions. ☕️💀
👀 First Impressions: Adorable name. Promising sign. I thought I’d stumbled into a cozy indie café where the barista knows your order, the music is vinyl-only, and the air smells like dreams and cinnamon. Instead? It smelled like regret, reheated milk, and "we just mopped but not really." 🧼
☕️ The Coffee: I ordered a latte. What I got was a cup of existential dread topped with mystery foam. Somehow both burnt and cold — a rare scientific phenomenon I can only describe as “Schrödinger’s Espresso.” 🧪🔥❄️ Tasted like someone filtered it through an old sock that once belonged to a pirate. 🧦⚓
🥯 The Food: Tried a bagel. I think it was actually a hockey puck dressed in gluten. I could’ve taken it to the NHL and scored a hat trick. 🏒🥯 Also, the cream cheese had the vibe of a ghost. I saw it… briefly… then it vanished forever. 👻
🙃 The Vibe: You’d expect warm vibes, indie tunes, maybe a houseplant or two? Nope. Dead silent. A single flickering lightbulb in the corner like a scene from Interrogation: The Barista Files. 💡🚨 Decor looked like it was trying to say “chic” but accidentally screamed “yard sale.” 🪑😬
😐 The Staff: The girl behind the counter had the energy of a dial-up modem and the enthusiasm of a sock drawer. I smiled. She blinked. I said “thank you,” and I swear I heard a Windows 98 error sound in response. 💻
🧽 Cleanliness: Let’s just say the table wiped me back. Sticky? Check. Crumb-covered? Check. Unidentified brown spots? Checkmate. 🍫 (At least…I hope that was chocolate.)
💀 Final Thoughts: The Groves Coffee House? More like The Groans Coffee Trap. Came for a caffeine fix, left with trust issues and a craving for bleach.
This place has all the warmth of a DMV on a Monday, with coffee brewed by someone who’s definitely mad at...
Read moreFound a new coffee shop right next door to the Farmer’s Market on Okeechobee Boulevard – The Groves Coffee House. Managed and operated by Andrea, it’s a locally owned business that seems popular. I’ve enjoyed coffee - eaten breakfast and lunch - and ordered many snacks and pastries.
At “The Groves,” you’ll find a wide variety of organic coffees and teas, along with the traditional favorites of Cuban and standard American drip coffee. Breakfast and lunch are served in the form of sandwiches, salads and wraps, various cookies and cake, along with fruit and Latin pastries and meat pies.
The Café con Leche has four shots of espresso, rather than the three offered by a popular competitor. That’s about 80 additional milligrams of caffeine to get your day started. Standard and Cuban coffee are also on the menu along with different offerings of latte and cappuccino. Almond and coconut milk are options for the dainty, not into regular milk.
I typically order the Café con Leche (remember that extra shot of espresso) and Cuban toast when having breakfast. I used to order the breakfast sandwich with bacon, egg and cheese. That’s a lot of food and I don’t eat much in the morning, so for now it’s just Cuban toast. There are over a dozen breakfast items to choose from on the menu.
For lunch, it’s typically the Medianoche or Pan Con Bistec Cuban sandwich. Of the two, I prefer the Pan Con Bistec Cuban – their own version of a Philly cheesesteak that is packed with meat and cheese with shoestring potatoes on the side. This sandwich must be cut into four pieces and shared. It’s too much for one person.
Spanish pastries and meat pies - whenever I order, I take them with coffee for the road.
Plenty of shared parking and an indoor/outdoor dining area. Polite and friend staff – great coffee and food – I give the 5 stars.

Read moreI came in to try this place after purchasing a fundraiser coupon book from a kids football team. After ordering my food I was told they don’t accept the coupon, then that it was not for what I ordered. After seeing the coupon was indeed valid and for both locations in Palm beach I was then told that they can’t honor it and to “ come back tomorrow “ . This is really annoying since I only came in to use the coupon. Needless to say I won’t be returning. And I would’ve liked to for the bee pollen and other items I wanted to purchase. But I think it’s wrong to be apart of a children’s fundraiser and not honor it for $10 bucks when I spent well over and eat out almost everyday. I did pay full price. UPDATE!! Got home to find pork on my sandwich and no dressing for other order. I specifically said no ham or bacon and heard her tell them no bacon yet they still put it on. I called in and was told to make it there in four minutes or else they cannot help me after telling her to refund me. She told me that she would remake the wrap I got there. There was a gentleman there that spoke no English and told me he had no food for me and he could not help me all the lights were off. This is despicable service and I would not want my business ran this way. I do not eat pork I was laughed at by them when I told them that I could not remove the pork from the wrap and eat it because I do not eat pork. I left the wrap on the counter and will never come here again. Beware of who you spend...
