Read moreAfter shopping at the Outlet mall on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd, my mom, sister & I decided to grab some dinner. We were seated promptly & were given menus. We received our drink order promptly. The 2 salads & matzo ball soup came shortly afterwards & then our dinner entrées. The shepherd's pie tasted great & my mom loved the chicken capri. I absolutely loved the matzo soup! The peach iced tea was delicious & my mom loved the strawberry lemonade. This was the positive part of our experience & where it stopped. The reason for the 2 stars is the service given by Anna. (1 star for service & 4 stars for the food) I didn't see any name tags on the employees but found her name on the receipt. When she took our order, our dinner included rye bread & a salad or soup. I verified with Anna that rye bread was included. She stated it was but that most people didn't ask for it & you only get it if you ask as I did. She also mentioned that the bread machine that slices the bread was broken so they had to slice the bread by hand. Her tone was not friendly but more like we annoyed her especially when I asked about the rye bread being included with the dinner entrées. Anna had also mentioned that a lot of people never ate the bread so it would be thrown away & that's why it was no longer given unless requested. Later she went to pick up the menus but she got distracted by telling one of her coworkers about who was getting what tables. Anna appeared to be bossy & overwhelmed & overly concerned about who was taking what tables. Meanwhile my sister was trying to give her the menu which she never took back so my sister placed it on the empty table in front of us. I only saw about 6 other occupied tables. Anna never came by to ask us if we needed anything more after we received our entrées. In fact, it took a while before I was able to ask her to refill my water & peach ice tea. My sister & mom never got their drinks refilled. I kept trying to get her attention to ask her about the bread after getting my drinks refilled but she would speed by our table & avoid eye contact. She dropped my refills so fast I didn't get a chance to ask her about the bread. My sister & mom tried to get her attention but she avoided all 3 of us. She was not too busy to stop what she was doing to talk about the table zones & who was supposed to be where. She was constantly ordering the girl that picked up the plates when the customers were done with their meals. Although that girl was alert & constantly watching the tables to remove any finished plates. Anna appeared to be overwhelmed but I'm not sure from what because the restaurant was pretty empty when we were there. It took forever to get our bill & some containers to put our leftovers in. When we finally received the containers, I asked about the rye bread & Anna sighed, seemed annoyed & said she forgot especially since no one ever requests the bread. Let's not forget that Anna & the other waitress have tablets to take down your order. She brought 3 slices to put in our take home containers. The only time Anna had a friendly tone was when she gave us the bill. Her voice was completely different. Even my sister noticed the change in Anna's voice. There was another waitress there & her customers were receiving prompt service, getting their drinks refilled & any requests fulfilled. I wish we had her. I will not be giving this location another chance. I will never be returning here. I felt like the other waitress knew what she was doing & didn't need the constant reminders from Anna about what tables to take. My observation was that Anna was taking the bigger parties & leaving the single or smaller parties to the other waitress/waitresses. I heard so much about zones & the numbers each table was assigned that I felt like I knew the layout by the time I left. (In all the years I've dined at restaurants, I've never heard waiters or waitresses talking about zones with their coworkers.) Thus the service suffered. I dined there on...
Read moreI'm giving this place 3 stars instead of 5 only because the service wasn't so great on our first day there for lunch. We had the waiter Andre and he came over took out orders and seemed a bit much as far as personality. I don't mind playfulness & having a sense of comfortability with your customers, but he had so much of a sister girl attitude, like if I was one of his long time friends. I know he was only playing but I just feel like there's a time and a place for everything. When I placed my order he was like "oh do you want it on a wrap a, wrap is better" when the sandwich specifically said it came on toasted challah bread. Then when I mentioned so it comes up fries and coleslaw he asked "so you want coleslaw and fries?" and I pointed out that the menu said it comes with coleslaw and fries. His response was that sometimes he places the order and they don't serve the coleslaw or the fries and he winds up having to ask for it again I found that to be probably not true if the menu says it comes with it, it comes with it.
So then we waited over 45 minutes just to get a sandwich which was a Avocado BLT and a soup and half a turkey sandwich that's all we ordered and it took 45 minutes. We had to flag down the hostess and ask her what was going on why did it take so long. She indicated that the kitchen got backed up but the food should be out shortly and then after that it did come out like about 2 minutes later. Andre never came to check up on us again and this is the reason why I'm only giving three stars. the food was pretty good though.
The next day we decided to go back and had breakfast. This morning was a much more pleasant experience we had the waitress Nadine and she was so polite and accommodating and she checked up on us several times, so I have to say Nadine is a really good employee at this establishment. I ordered the plate of breakfast that comes with a waffle, eggs, breakfast meat and home fries. It was good. I couldn't finish it all but I didn't expect to. nadine checked on us several times and even chatted with my Aunt for a few minutes when we were leaving. No complaints about the breakfast. Everything was good. I especially liked the thick slices of...
