No one at the front desk area knows what they are doing! If you’re going to book here book through a third party that way you get the price advertised.
I came here Tuesday 05/28 and instead of booking through Expedia I went ahead and let the front desk personnel create the reservation because I thought it would be cheaper. Expedia had a total of $347 from 05/28-05/31. The front desk said my total based off the internet rate was $500+ and I said that doesn’t match what Expedia had and front desk said “I gave you the internet rate.”
I asked for a copy of the documents I initially signed so I could see the itemization and was told I’d get the bill upon check out. Today 05/30 I go over and asked the rates to extend for 2 additional days and the new front desk personnel said you’re checking out today.. I said no my reservation is for tomorrow 05/31. He then pulls up the itemization billing and I asked for a copy which he obliged. And I was able to see that I in fact WAS NOT given the internet rate for all the nights as informed. That really pissed me off because I could have completed my own booking through 3rd party and paid a cheaper amount.
And upon check in I asked for a copy of this same itemized bill I signed and was informed I couldn’t be provided one. That’s usually not the case at other reputable hotels. Had I been given it initially when I asked for a copy I would have been able to address the discrepancy in the prices from the get go. It was almost like front desk didn’t want to tell me or provide me a copy of my break down. I had to go back on several occasions to see the amount for security deposit etc. And no wonder they didn’t want to give me the break down /itemized billing because it’s cheaper through third party.
Breakfast was included but it’s mediocre you can eat out from the Outlet across the street. The boiled eggs from breakfast seemed like they had been sitting there for 5 days 🤮 and the ham looked like the was mold on it! Yuck!
The premise has beautiful gardens and is well kept. The pool is outdated needs resurfacing/be cleaned.
I had a standard room with 2 queen sized beds with a small fridge & microwave. The room is pretty basic with outdated carpets and outdated but clean bathroom. I’m not sure how clean they are but there was a roach in my room and that made me think it’s not as clean as I thought.
The locks on the door are very sketchy like someone could push hard enough from the outside and get in the room. Not very reassuring for a female there by themselves. The cleaning staff/ maintenance staff were very friendly. They came each morning for room service.
UPDATE: so I extended my stay 1 more night tested my theory and booked online (much cheaper and hassle free) only pay security deposit upon check in. I had to move rooms which was understandable but the room I was given was not up to par it had “blood like” stains on the mattress and carpet🤮.
I went down to the front desk and the nice personnel called another staff Ralph who came back to the room brought house keeping with him to inspect and agreed that room was not up to their standards. So they switched my room to a better one and replaced the mattress and cleaned the carpet in the other room.
Ralph was very nice about the situation he brought me complimentary wines and a gift card for the...
Read moreTo begin, I enjoyed my stay but I don’t know if I’d stay again. I’m splitting this into two parts because I know some like to read everything and some like to get to the point.
TO THE POINT : This is not a regular hotel. DO NOT UNPACK YOUR CAR! You go to the main lobby to check in and then you get told what room you’re in. Our room was two buildings away from the main lobby so we had to pack the car back up and drive over to our building. Also THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS! Please pick the correct room if you are in need of an elevator. It’s really like an old apartment complex. That’s the feeling I got from the building. Breakfast was ok if you want to just put a little food on your stomach but it’s nothing that would make you go for seconds. Ants were in our room and the front desk was rude about the problem. Check out was easy, we left at 5 am so.
THE FULL STORY : We went down to West Palm for a convention. The drive was a long one so you can imagine when I arrived, I was ready to shower and relax. We get there and I see multiple buildings, none attached to each other, and the main building that holds the lobby. We unpacked the car and brought our bags in for us to check in and they tell us we need to drive around the property to go to the third building.
We get to our room and I’m met with ants in the bathroom, hair in the sink, and ants near the coffee maker. Of course I called the front desk. I wasn’t greeted warmly or anything. Just a dry, quiet, “front desk” in which I had to say hello because I didn’t realize someone was talking at first. I called and mentioned the ants and she said she’ll send someone up. She then called back and said “you gonna move or you gonna stay in that room” and I asked what room as they had given us a map. She mentioned that it’ll be a room in the next building over but it wouldn’t be a king bed, just two doubles. That part was fine, but when my husband asked was there ants in the other room, she got a really snarky attitude. She said “he can go check it out with maintenance if he want” but she needed an answer.
My husband said that he didn’t want to make an answer until he got confirmation that it wasn’t any ants and he’ll wait until they checked it out. She then asked again “what are you gonna do?” Getting frustrated, I said have maintenance come to our current room and fix the issue and then if it continues then we will be moving rooms. Maintenance was very attentive to the problem and I had no issue with him. Whoever was at that desk needs to get put into some training. The day shift people were wonderful and that’s what made me put ⭐️⭐️ I hate they make you pay ahead of time. I couldn’t get a discount or anything for a nasty room or a nasty attitude. I shouldn’t have to clean my hotel room when I...
Read moreMy father is in the process of dying and being from central Florida I needed a place to stay while figuring out his affairs. This is no one else’s problem and I’m never one to take my situation out on others . In fact I tend to treat people with an extra level of kindness in these type of moments because it’s what I’m hoping to get in return as I can’t afford for any more negativity than I’m already dealing with . Being I have a ton on my plate , my wife booked my travels online for a single night stay . Turns out I needed more days so I asked my wife to extend the room being my hands were full and she called to extend . I then get a text from wife saying you’re going to have to go up to the front desk yourself , I spoke to someone horribly rude on the phone that was of no help . I was baffled I mean how much resistant can you get when you want to hand a company more money for the same arrangement you had the night prior ? I have no issue with the price , and they aren’t booked fully or even close , so what’s the hold up ? Anyway I made my way to the front desk as there must have been a misunderstanding. Upon arrival I’m met reluctantly by a front desk agent who has the demeanor of a hostile witch . Hi how are you I asked …. Hmm she mutters under her breath , basically what do want ? I’m in room xxx can I just extend for a night I don’t care about the charge . She looks at me as if I asked her to rebuild the place by hand , sighs and tells me with an aggressive tone “ You booked online and prepaid so you have to end your current reservation . And go book another one online , and you’re gonna pay another $100 deposit as if she wanted to scare me off so that I would A. Go book it my self , and B . As if I would buzz off hearing that I had to authorize another $100 deposit . If that’s there policy , I got no problem with any of that . But no apologies for the inconvenience just emphasis and aggression in her tone and a piercing look of general dissatisfaction. Not sure why I was met with this level of customer incompetence but mark my words, if I am not reached out too by a BEST WESTERN manager to rectify her actions , I will NEVER step foot in another BEST WESTERN again . It’s a shame , decent place , decent prices and a worthless FRONT desk agent who would rather scare off customers and impede on best westerns business than do her job by “kindly explaining policy” and apologetically managing inconveniences. As a former customer services manager in the hotel industry for years managing the same type of employees I wonder how this attitude and presentation has gone unnoticed as I was met with this unprovoked . I give this experience a negative three out of ten and RECOMMEND you look...
