Absolutely sick after this 4/20 visit and not just from the amount of grease in my over priced burger. As soon as we entered the building it went bad. The two girls at the hostess stand were cold and uninviting. Neither greeted us with a Hello or Welcome to Chili's. One was on her phone and the other was walking back and forth between the restaurant and the bar, I assume avoiding the other hostess. I observed many open tables on the restaurant side and a packed, noisy bar on the other side. So after I decided to make first contact, say Hi and inform the girl that we had 4 people in our group, she rudely blurted out "you gonna have to wait!" and went back to her texting. Another guest who entered before us was kind enough to tell us that the other hostess had told them it would be a two minute wait, so we sat down in the waiting booth, and waited...and waited: watching guest after guest leave. It was obvious the hostess was exerting her power to make us wait as long as she wanted us to wait after I interrupted her texting. Then a server asked her why we were waiting when there are open tables, and then she proceeded to sit us in the crowded bar. It was loud and with four adults crammed into a small booth, it was more than uncomfortable. The only reason we didn't ask to be moved to the quieter roomier restaurant side was the friendly waitress who made her way to us, introduced herself and went back to taking care of her other tables. We sat there for almost 7 minutes between being seated giving the waitress our drink/food orders. We were ready to order our meals by the time she came to our table, not a big deal since we spent those seven minutes talking about the way the hostesses needed to be retrained. I worked in food service in my twenties and my daughter is getting ready to enter college so I used the time to teach her that most people tip based on the whole experience and one rude employee can ruin pay day for everyone else. We all decided to get classic burgers except my daughter's boyfriend wanted a plain burger with bacon. The waitress decided to charge us for the most expensive burger on the menu and then take off the extras, instead of just adding a slice of bacon to a classic burger. So when the rest of us had a $11 burger, his was almost $20. And $3.50 for fountain soda is highway robbery! It cost us $90 for 4 burgers, six greasy, salty mozzarella stix and sodas. With tip was over $100. HOW DID OUR COUNTY GET TO THIS? When did it become okay to charge people these prices and treat them with attitude, as if its a burden to serve them? The burgers were so saturated in grease, we all took just a few bites and stopped eating. The top of the bun was crusty and stale and the bottom was soaked in grease and mushy. The lettuce was yellow and brown, the tomato; pale and tasteless. The onion was translucent and bitter. The thing was inedible. The french fries were mediocre, mostly dry with seasoning dumped on some stems. It was just so disappointing. I haven't visited Chili's in the last six years and decided to give it another try. I would describe the menu as being full of high priced American TexMex Heart Attack Food. My heart hurts just thinking about last Saturday nights experience! It will be another six years before I forget and make this same mistake...
Read moreFood prep left a little to be desired. I got the hard top of onion in my food and my friends broccoli wasn't cooked. It was served barely warm with some sort of grease over it that didn't taste like butter. But I do need to say that over all the food is loaded with bold flavor and you don't walk away hungry! The table the hostess walked us to still had a puddle of some sort of slurry on it from the previous patrons. It wasn't that busy. There were plenty of other tables so I don't know why she even seated us there. Someone came and quickly and wiped it b4 we sat down but it still felt greasy and strange. As for the actual food server, lets just say she (and she had help from another young man who appeared to be learning) seemed very stressed. She ignored me deliberately after they brought out our appetizer with no plates. I literally put my hand up and waved when she was at the table right next to us. She had to have seen it. No way she couldn't have unless she had a vision problem that blocked any and all of her peripheral vision. We waited a bit while we tried to pass around the one plate between us using all of our allotted napkins. I had to finally get up and walk up to her at a table of new customers. She still tried to ignore me while I stood there saying, "Miss, Miss, Miss." Finally, clearly angry, she stopped just short of actually saying, "Shush!" I said to her, "Please, when u get a chance." while motioning toward our table and went back and sat down. Finally my efforts were fruitful! In closing I want to say, Chili's needs to hire a better manager. Corporate needs to cough up the money to really PAY someone who really knows how to manage a restaurant. A person who really understands how things reflect on them personally and ultimately on the business and everyone it employs. After all that, the food was tasty! It def hits the spot when you have a Southwest craving! I would just...
Read moreI want to start off by saying I hate giving bad reviews. I usually just won’t post. But this visit to Chili’s was by far the worst visit I’ve ever had at a restaurant in a very long time. We sat for 20 minutes before we got our drinks. You can clearly tell that they are short staffed, and the waitress was all over the place. We heard another servers apologizing to their customer next to us, because the bartender was not serving the drinks as they should. We ordered the dip trio first and wanted that to come out before our meal. It was another 20 minutes before our waitress took our actual food order and our dip trio still wasn’t at our table. At this point it’s 40 minutes in and we still just had our drinks. I watched another table get up and leave because they sat there waiting patiently for their drink order to be taken for 20 minutes. Our dip trio ended up coming out 5 minutes before our food. The white queso and skillet queso was so cold it was the same temperature as our refrigerated salsa. When our food arrived the order was messed up. They gave me sliders instead of the Crispy Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers. I told the waitress and she apologized and brought out the crispers within 3 minutes and they were gross. So dry and hard and I couldn’t even eat them. They clearly had some regular crispers sitting under the hot light and drizzled the sauce on the plate. At this point being there for an hour and 20 minutes I was ready to leave. The food was disgusting, cold, hard and just a complete disappointment. Definitely not worth the $56 we spend for 2 people. I will NEVER go to chili’s again. The only reason I put one star is because I had to and the waitress was very apologetic and super overwhelmed. Save yourself the trip. Don’t go here. Absolutely HORRIBLE customer...
