Whiskey River Bar & Grill — Restaurant in West Salem

It's a local spot exclusively for local people, The atmosphere is like walking into a Party you weren't invited to, sterile walls , nothing written on the chalkboards. Did this place just give up? We ordered two old fashioned, one sour, one sweet, both were made with fireball whiskey without us asking, so apparently that's standard, which is gross. We didn't report it, we paid, tipped left and we ended up leaving and going across the street to Silverados which was great.

Overall, if you're local, I'm sure it's great If you're not local, there are much better options...

ZELDA was our waitress and she was super sweet and super kind. She made my wife and I feel so at home and very welcome. The burgers we had were the BEST bacon cheeseburger I've ever had. Fried buns, bacon, raw and fried onions and more. They were made to our specifications and AMAZING. The cocktails were good and again, I can't say enough for the friendly staff, especially Zelda. Good was great and prices very fair. The double cheese burger is ginormous, eat with a fork and knife kinda burger.

They are cash only, which is fine, but it was a little unfair that I was informed after I got my food. No verbal mention of being cash-only, either, I saw someone write and tape a sign to the bar that had not been there prior. I don't keep cash or my ATM card on me so this was a little inconvenient, but we made it work.
