Starbucks — Restaurant in West Valley City

The only thing keeping me from giving this location one star are the employees. They're extremely friendly and polite especially considering all the weirdos they have to deal with. The whole point or Starbucks is to taste the same no matter where you are in the world, but for the past two years any time I've gone to this location the espresso in my latte always tastes burnt. I don't know if they need to clean their machine or what, but this shouldn't happen when all you have to do is push a button. My wife likes this spot because it's only a five minute walk from our apartments, but I personally rather walk the few miles it takes to reach the next location than purchase a drink here. That's saying something for a person who doesn't own a vehicle. As for my wife, she was a barista for over 20 years and even though she goes to this Starbucks out of convenience she's also able to fix her drink when we get home. Mine on the other hand is to basic to fix without overloading it with flavoring. Yes we have our own coffee flavorings and five different contraptions for making it. That's how serious we are...

I usually never leave reviews but I live right down the road and this is my go to Starbucks I go almost every single day. There is a lady who works here and I don't know her name but she is on the taller side and she is an African American lady usually with braids... anyways she deserves the world. For almost a year now she has brightened up my day. She is so kind, patient, understanding, quick, efficient, yet not rushful. She is all of these things every single day and it amazes me. There have been times where I want to get a drink just to enjoy that interaction. I came today and was having a rough day and she was so patient when my card wasn't working and she eventually just gave my drink on the house... she wasn't annoyed that my card wasn't working like most places act and I just needed to say something. I hope she sees this and knows her kindness really does pay off. Also my drinks are always so delicious and I can always count on this location! The staff in general is always kind...

I was having a rough night that spilled into the morning. I went in thinking coffee was the ticket, however my stomach said otherwise. The place was immaculate and the crew stayed on pumping out orders as well as keeping it pristine! I have 20+ years of food service industry under my belt and they are a perfect example of the well oiled machine! I needed to sit and charge my phone and contact some people and these 6 or 7 ladies were absolutely amazing. To the owners, if the budget allows, your opening crew should all get a kick up in pay, for they surely "show you the money" service wise! Thank you Kayla for your compassion, ear, assistance and thank the crew for allowing me to come in and burden a table for a few... Hours!
