After attending a reception, I decided to grab some food here. Unfortunately, the Nacho dish lacked flavor and was rather bland. Additionally, I was surprised to be charged for plain water, not flavored water, which wasn't mentioned anywhere. Moreover, the inconvenience of driving back for a $4 refund outweighs the benefit, owners response stated they would help refund their error. As for the food quality, it's fair to say it didn't meet expectations. The owner's remark about me being "hard to please" was unwarranted. My intention is to provide honest feedback to help improve establishments. While I understand every place has its off days, this experience doesn't warrant more than a 2-star rating. It's also worth noting that relying solely on inflated ratings can be misleading, as evident by some overly generous ratings for places like Wendy's. My favorite place in all of Salt Lake City area to eat. PERIOD. This little hole in the wall restaurant serves up authentic Mexican dishes that remind me of my visits to Mexico. The Barbacoa is made of lamb and is my all time favorite. The tripas, buche, suardado...ALL of it is great food. The homemade hot sauce is to die for. Perfecly balance of sweet and heat. It's a small personally run taqueria is it fine dining, absolutely not. It's sometimes backed up and can take a few minutes to get your food because well it's good and they get a line around dinner time. Been here at least 20 times now something's are okay others are amazing but never been disappointed in my order and it's very traditional in most aspects. Staff has always been nice and helpful the cooks yes they don't say much but call our numbers but they are cooks and rather have properly made food then chat time with the person making my it.
